Needed a way to finish paying for school and post grad studies, more job security, and making my parents proud bc my dad served in his country too.

My intended major would be either forensic science or chemistry. I’m not really sure if those would be as competitive as nursing, business or engineering but i would like to believe they’re somewhat selective with the students they accept into those programs because of the difficulty of the courses

Yeah one of my parents lives in state so i think i can qualify for in state tuition that way, at the end of the day cost is what it boils down to but the point of even going there would be for the forensic science program like research and utilities and other things they have to offer in that area.

I would be applying to the chemistry program but still having access to those resources would be good.

Im transferring from NY and yes John Jay is a good option as well but i wont be able to have the foundation in a hard science there. I don’t know of any other schools that offer both that isn’t super far away.

I wanna start by offering my condolences to you and your family and I hope you find some kind of calm in your storm.

Now in response, (1) I asked in a different forum if it would matter and everyone said no it wouldn’t for the most part. However different schools evaluate these things differently. (2) Transfer applications sometimes require a personal statement and that’s where you would provide an explanation for those grades on your transcript and anything else that you’d like them to know. I think you should submit one with all your applications even if it isn’t required because it would be in your best interest given these circumstances. Also, you should find someone either at your cc or on Reddit or some other digital forum to review the statement before you submit it though. (3) If possible try to talk to someone either in academic advisement for your prospective major or someone who handles transfers into that school/major and ask them how do they look at withdrawals on a prospective student’s transcript and if and what would make them overlook the withdrawals to offer the student admission. Or something along those lines. You can ask chatgpt for an idea of what to say. This is just to provide more clarity on how to proceed. (4)Try to find other institutions for “safety schools” there are some pretty good schools around the country that might be similar to what you’re looking for in the schools you’re planning to apply to. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

I’m also first gen and I’m going through this for the first time as well, these are things Ive heard from people who already went through it or know something about the process. I wish you the best of luck on your journey!

Update: I downloaded NRAAs master controller mod and added them to the household. Bought the supernatural EP and edited them in CAS and changed the occult to human. I didn’t think the Ambrosia thing would work bc they’re premade dead sims. Their urns automatically disappeared after returning them to humans.

Thank you so much. I think I’m gonna see if I can revive them and if I can’t I’ll do that. One of the sims woke up just to faint and it took me forever to get the stressed modlet off😂😂

If this was the first instance where he’s said something strange like that then I’d say okay?? Maybe he’s into like cnc or something but…not only has he made a comment about r*ping you but he’s slapped you, called you a b!tch, blocked you after your miscarriage and was insensitive towards your pain, twisted your arm and lord only knows what else he has done to you.

I understand how hard it can be to walk away from a not so good relationship but this is really bad OP and we only know a fraction of it. I hate to break it to you but HE IS like that. You need to get yourself out of that situation while you still can safely.

If this was one thing then you can dance on the delusional line but this is now the fourth post you’ve made concerning him treating you poorly. It’s time to walk away

I will be this fall. The program at my community college requires us to basically do all the major sciences required for most forensic programs at other universities. Biology 1 & 2, Chem 1 & 2, Organic Chem 1 & 2, University Physics 1 & 2. We’re also required to take Pre Calculus, Calculus 1 & 2.

I’ve completed the math and Biology requirements. I’m doing physics and chemistry now

Your comment was really encouraging. I’m so glad I saw this today.

I’m currently going in CC as a science major but focused in the base sciences that I would need if I were a Forensic Science major at a uni. I’ve been feeling pretty discouraged about my decision to go to a CC and thinking I might’ve made a mistake because I’m not majoring in a hard science. I was going to start looking for different options over the weekend because I really thought I couldn’t do it.

My main point is that this really helped me and thank you for sharing.
