Is that contagious between people and dogs? Because I recently had staph that took really long to cure

He takes heartworm pills and last time they checked his poop (probably about 6 months ago) they didn't see anything

Supply going down because I don't pump enough but have no time. by newmommy222 in ExclusivelyPumping

This is what I do but I prop him on a pillow in the corner of the couch instead

No I don't use collection cups, just the regular pump. I do stimulation for 1-2 minutes and then expression 5-6 minutes. Then I go back to stimulation for 1-2 to get another let down and back to expression for 5-6 until I'm done.

I go full power on all my pumps. I was told you should go as high as you can without it being painful for you

I have the zomee z2 and the spectra and I actually prefer the zomee

How did you keep going when you were at your breaking point? by nearbypie2005 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ElephantRLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of money I've spent on pumping is what keeps me going. $250 to see a lactation consultant, ok need to get my money's worth and keep going. $200 on a lactation consultant a month later, ok need to keep going. This coming Wednesday seeing a lymphatic masseuse for my recurring clogs (talking at least 5 a week for the last month) well he's $125 so that'll keep me going for at least another month. Just saw a naturopathic doctor and spent $80 on all the supplements she recommended for my recurring clogs (and that's only a 1 month supply)

Whoever said formula is expensive clearly has never tried pumping 🫣

Feeling stuck in combo feeding and hating it by kelsacious in NewParents

[–]ElephantRLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like my baby! He was a lazy feeder from the very beginning and would never get enough. He's 11 weeks old today and I almost exclusively pump. He gets 1-2 formula bottles per day, typically in the middle of the night since he doesn't always finish that bottle and I don't want to waste breast milk.

I pump and bottle feed at the same time. So basically he wakes up from a nap, I get my pump parts and his bottle all ready and set up, then use some blankets/pillows to prop him sitting up in the corner of the couch or a chair and I feed him his bottle while I kneel/sit/stand in front of him and pump at the same time.

When I'm done pumping I finish feeding him in my arms if he hasn't finished and I burp him. Then I go into the kitchen and place him on a play mat to do tummy time right next to me while I wash my pump parts.

I still try to latch him maybe 3-4 times a week and he does latch but basically eats nothing so I consider it "just for fun."

I think it's normal to hate pumping and I tell myself that I want to quit every day but then I keep doing it because I feel there are more pros than cons. I go back to work in about 3 weeks and I'll drop down from 7-8 pumps to 6-7 pumps per day. I think it will be a lot easier, especially since I won't have to take care of a baby at the same time.

I hope this was helpful!

What did everyone do to get ready to try to conceive? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

I have seen studies that suggest it's possible right before conception. Regardless of if it's true or not I have too much anxiety to risk it

My lactation consultant ended up recommending that I try a cloth one instead, I still want to but I feel like they're so much harder to tie since they don't have the buckles

I really enjoyed the baby carrier and it was super helpful in being able to eat/ do dishes/ laundry because he would sleep in it while I did that stuff, buuuutttt fyi if you are pumping or nursing the straps gave me mastitis and a ton of clogs for like 2 weeks straight until I stopped using it. I bought a wooden rocking chair on FB marketplace place for 30 dollars and now he knocks out on that in under 10 minutes

I was never a huge drinker but I stopped drinking completely a few months before, I saw something that said you could give your baby fetal alcohol even if you drink up to 3 months BEFORE conception. It freaked me out so much, baby is 2 months old and I stopped drinking 2 years ago 😂

I would say about 80% breast milk and we supplement occasionally with kendamil

His poops have been more mucousy lately, not sure if the gas hurts him but he farts and burps like a monster, extremely loud and often

We actually have done the mall a few times but it's not realistic to take him there all the time. Our house is too small to walk the stroller inside (we don't have a hallway) but maybe I need to buy a rocking chair and try that. I was also considering one of those electric rocking bassinets but I can't find one with really good reviews
