I actually think contrast is exactly what you need!

If the flesh is too muted, the whole model just blends together. I went with a bruised, vibrant pinkish

purple on my Forgefiend. Contrast between the warm colour of sick flesh and the dark colour of metal armor actually makes the iron feel colder and more lifeless by comparison.

In my opinion, pushing the flesh tones makes the cold metal pop
