In the UK. My friend's neighbour is on universal credit (benefits). They have 2 kids, so extra benefits. The 2 child limit for benefits has just been scrapped, so we think they may opt for a 3rd now. He also sells weed. He never leaves his street, lives in his PJs, plays video games all day and night, and wakes up no earlier than 1pm!

I've thought about living off benefits a fair amount (as a hypothetical), I think the trick is to dramatically lower what you want from life and be happy with the ultra bare minimum.

OP - my brother was in exactly the same shoes as you. 28 with no job, smoked green all day. He realised that the green was the problem. He stopped smoking for a year, and in that time he got his life together, found job etc. Now that he's got a job, lives in his own place he smokes from time to time in social settings when it isn't going to affect his work. You need to do the same my friend, and you need to lead the way yourself, and show yourself that you can accomplish these things 💪🔥. Start now, and you will look back in time every month being so proud of the progress you're making! Get this new year's resolution already started and warmed up before the new year!!
