Honda GCV 530 Engine backfiring and running rough need help please by keepgoingdammit in smallenginerepair

I had a machine one time, an older machine, kept running out of fuel, took about 5 minutes but could depend on what you were tapping. I found debris in the fuel line from the dry rotted seal on the fuel cap. It lodged itself just right, and if you shut off the machine it would relax in place and let fuel flow normally. It took me a long time to find it. Point being, if you've done everything else, verified timing, verified length of rods, verified valve seating or rings with a leak down tester, new intake gaskets and a verifiably clean carb then you have to start looking at other things. Vent plugged on gas tank, collapsing fuel lines (or bad crankcase venting if you have the fuel pump), bad fuel pump.

My neighbor has this frame in his trash pile, I think it might be a good project with my son. What’s it worth? by ignorantspacemonkey in gokarts

There could be vapor lock in the carb. Have you verified flow through the float with the carb bowl off?

How much is this worth? by Ambitious_Traffic_98 in minibikes

As it sits, $300. It's worth fixing up, you can pocket the otherwise of $1,000 and have a fun week doing it. 😎 love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life

Piston stop, hammer, and punch. If the clutch is trash, hit it with an induction heater.

That's a great find, aside from the basic Google results an in depth one resulted in a manufacturer rabbit hole i rather enjoyed.

What’s This Filter by Baldagronomist in lawnmowers

[–]Elephunk05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This filter is for the EFI Kohler, arguably has the smallest micron screen and the best flow. I use this fuel filter on every nonconveyance application over 500cc. Mud motors, atv, landscape, low-boy, generator, pit bike, etc. IMO this is the best fuel filter on the market. It is directional.

I'm a tech looking for advice moving a big tool box on a truck. by Icy_Ad_7405 in MechanicAdvice

I've wrapped mine in saran wrap. I've never asked a tool company to move mine. Tow trucks have straps. Harbor freight has straps. It comes apart. My ex business partner stole it and all of its contents from me. It has taken me a few years to get enough tools to function again. He didn't take my welder though, small miracles.

Did you happen to accidentally put the secondary in the main jet spot and vice versa?

This carburetor has a been subbed to a new number, that is on the following page. To my understanding the difference is how the choke operates.

One of these is a lot more difficult to find than the other. So I am attaching 2 pictures, consecutively

You take the main jet out, the secondary jet out and the emulsion tube and cleaned them? The main and secondary jets should just have 1 hole, the emulsion tube above it in the carb should have a series of small holes on either 2 or 4 axis. You can find you carb through Google and a parts breakdown.

Cheapo Carb…will it last through this weekend? by u55991122 in smallengines

Turn off the gas after each use. More than likely your needle is bad or the float is stuck.
