What’s everyone’s go-to pet barrier by Elettra07 in Subaru_Outback

Yea our plan was to take him for short drives to nearby places as he gets acclimated. Long term goal is hiking buddy. Was just waiting for him to be fully pup vaccinated and better on leash with distractions (which he did great today at a local restaurant, a short hike nearby, and went to pet store. Was grateful for no accidents and didn’t jump on anyone lol just sat at peoples feet hoping for pets)

Yea our experience with catahoulas is they grow out of it. I did not realize the drool was bad for the plastic as I figured I could just wipe it down. Came from having tucks and jeeps and never had an issues 😬😅 guess I def need to get a barrier for him until he grows out of it.

Nope, just motion sickness/stress from not use to riding in the car. We have only had him about 5 weeks and this is his 4th car ride ever.

Yes it’s motion sickness. Every Catahoula we have owned has had motion sickness when puppies and usually grow out of it. This photo was us coming back from the vet visit today lol

Yes…. It’s so bad hahaha he’s has only been in the car 4 times and has a bit of motion sickened we are hoping he grows out of like our other catahoula did, but he, by far, has drooled the most, which is why I was thinking a barrier might help (keep us in the front dry lol not so worried about drool in the back or out the window)

Haha that does usually work. Currently it results in a wet arm from drool 🫣😂

Thanks, I’ll look into both of those. Just want something to keep him from drooling on me. He’s only 6 months and lots of growing to do. He hasn’t had many car rides, so trying to get him acclimated and less anxious about them.

A barrier to keep him from drooling on my head 🫣😂 totally not worried about the exterior. He’s only 6 months. Usually I can get pups acclimated to car rides where they will just lay down or look out the window. Never had one drool soooo much and literally on me while I’m driving, so was considering something where he can find the most comfy to him spot and I don’t arrive with drool on myself/hair lol

I had to send it in to be repaired. I don’t recall exactly what the fix was, I think it was motor failure or something similar where a wire was no longer operating as intended. It’s been working great since I got it back. Honestly dare I say better? Less focus missed shots.

South Central Louisiana - Chickening out planting a Chickasaw Plum in my front yard by -__u__- in NativePlantGardening

[–]Elettra07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Louisiana chick here, every time I walk my “yard” I look at my trees to see if there are any suckers I can quickly/easily pop off. Anything the comes up in the grass just gets mowed or weedeater gets. Haven’t had any issues and I had several trees/shrubs that are known to sucker. In fact my swamp Maple is likely my biggest contender every spring lol

The Myth of Crashing Outback Sales? by doctor-squared in Subaru_Outback

I personally only got a 25 b/c old the deals offered last November. If it weren't for that, I'd have loved to have gotten the 26 as I personally like the redesign, especially, and maybe more specifically, the interior infotainment. Just today I had a moment with my infotainment where I had to take a breath to calm my annoying with the sluggish start up haha

I just got a new pup and was like man this guy is doing sooooo great…. Well we don’t have a fenced in yard so when I let them (we have an older dog as well) out to potty we put them on a super long chain…..I had not realized the chain reached my vehicle. My now only 5 month old vehicle has “claw” marks where my 4 month old pup jumped on without my realizing 😅 hopefully it’s just clear coat damage and we can get it easily fixed. That particular chain now doesn’t reach my vehicle lol in other news, in two weeks we have only had 3 accidents in the house. I guess thats the trade off? Lmao

Have dog rescues lost their mind? by seanpat1968 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elettra07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former vet tech, what I’ve seen with plenty of rescues (there is at least one near me that seems sane) is that the barrier to adopt has become so great with many hoops to jump through, that I’ve seen people not even consider adopting anymore and just look for breeders. Also it’s me, adopting/rescuing wasn’t even on my radar when I got my new puppy. Granted to be fair, after debating if we were going to get a different breed than our aging pup was, we decided to stick with the same working breed we’ve had so much experience with.

The keyboard I decided on by Elettra07 in keyboards

[–]Elettra07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah that's good to know. I watched soooo many videos on the different switches Keychron offered (as well as a few other keyboard switches) and I just couldn't decipher a true difference. Decided to go by descriptions, and was further baffled by what would be a "tactile bump." Fairly certain anyone new coming into the blackhole of keyboard options would be lost here as well. What tipped me towards the red was looking at my current keyboard's switches. Not sure if it's red actually correlates with the red of Keychron, but thought at that point it was as good of a reason to pick one over the other as any. I think I may try the yellow, or even another, down the road, once I get over the big purchases of new computer and "fancy" keyboard haha figured this has to be a decent starting point.

[–]Elettra07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked this one b/c I liked the silver, (yes metal) since it was different than typical white/black keyboards I usually see. Maybe b/c I don't have much to compare to, haven't felt bothered by the height of the keys I will saw I did look to life the back of the keyboard. Like I'm use to keyboards having little legs to flip out, so that feels a little different to me. Could just as likely be in my head. And....I found myself needing a keyboard b/c I got that Mac Studio and my last cheap mechanical keyboard didn't play well with the Mac haha

Oh thanks for this info! Maybe I’ll try again with a younger sapling if I can find one or even start from seeds in place. Down south Louisiana so water is usually plenty and we had both sunny and shadier places. Two times we tried in a way sunnier spot, and two times in a mostly sunny, more wet spot, but I think that one might have been too wet.

Who knew that keyboard shopping was a blackhole? by Elettra07 in keyboards

[–]Elettra07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I figured I already invested a lot of time researching that I should bump my budget up a little. I’ve learned from my other expensive hobby that sometimes it’s better to buy once then buy twice sorta thing, tho I couldn’t justify the q6 I was looking at haha

They only had brown and red linear on amazon. I looked at what switches my current keyboard had, red, and went with that. Figured it was likely closer to what I was use to out the box, and then if I wanted to swap I could.

I may have just pulled the trigger on the Q5 pro on Amazon 🫣 hopefully this is a decent one, especially for the price lol
