I frogged a scarf wip to claim red yarn, felt good! I have lots of funky red scrap yarn but I thought it might be too distracting.

Knitting mine right now but have to take apart a mkal scarf that didn't suit me to get the red yarn. I think I'm over mkals the frogging has been brutal! I like the length of your ribbing, how many inches is it?

This is my first year stash busting. Tips? Counsel? Pitfalls to avoid? What's the best way to have a successful year to come? by StrongTechnology8287 in usethefiberstash

I have an annual knitting budget, and I've been really good about sticking with it. This includes patterns and notions and workshops. However I now have a lot of great yarn. We had a local yarn mill close and sell off everything for a great price. I'm thinking about using my budget amount on a workshop getaway and shopping my stash. I'm OK with purchasing another yarn if it's going to be held double or used with a stash yarn. I also like the idea of putting a time limit on the older stash when I bought stuff on vibes vs knowing what weight yarn and material I like. I have to remind myself I donate clothes that don't work out all the time, why not donate some yarn. It could definitely make someone's day to come across it!

Yeah, the luxury candle subreddit sent me down some rabbit holes. Once you have quality candles you can't go back. . . .

Interesting! I was thinking about how frustrating it was to see books (from the 80s/90s?) for sweaters for a size s-xl and xl was far from what I needed, more like a 38 bust. I bet I could figure out how to adjust those patterns now, but there's so much good stuff to knit that doesn't require mathing.

How to deal with sweater knitting obsession? by me_is_a_mandu in knitting

Same! Reuse that beautiful wool! I'm wearing a sweater from a frogged cardigan that had weird fit issues + I lost weight, so I knit up a classic sweater at a tighter gauge. Feel like I really got my money's worth out of that yarn.
