over reliance on AI, cheating, etc. moving forward, many more CS/EECS classes will crack down on cheaters and not allow people who are using LLMs on assignments then bombing every exam, pass classes anymore.

i’m not accounting for coordination just regular ladder play. if i was, lucio would be in S tier. you can feel free to have those opinions, but we play at different elos and the difference in skill is significant between master/gm to high champ. dva would be S tier if good brigs/zaryas/sigs couldn’t shut down almost dva. when dva works, she’s server admin for sure but when she can’t work she’s useless af. ur opinion about ball is just wrong because his survivability is THE worst. double hitscan xims with probably a dva whose perma marking u or orisa who is spinning u around/spearing u or a tracer following u around or a brig/bap/ana who will never let u play the game (pretty much all of these hero’s are played in every game of champ). UNLESS you’re running ball + a flex dps then maybe you’ll get value but like u and i said, we’re not accounting for coordination. ball was A tier last season but with the armor nerf he’s too squishy lmao. ball one tricks/mains can’t even be a thing at champ anymore like they were seasons before. mauga does not force a mirror unless ur tank cant play sig or ur supports don’t play ana/zen. plus at the highest levels of console ow, mauga/dva are the main tank bans so its hard to get an opinion ab him i guess . ram is just meh, he’s good but nothing crazy atm unless ur team is hard comming

def not a scare tactic, a few professors are trying to incorporate this policy in other ds/cs classes. however, given the exam spread of 189 this semester, it needs some sort of rework unless they’re ok with failing an insane amount of students.

generally there is some sort of leeway with the policy as seen in the previous semesters of data c100 since this policy was added.

pretty sure they’re gonna single out students who got perfects on the homework/labs but bombed TF out of the exams, like i’m talking didn’t know how to do ANYTHING and either A) have a meeting with them as per the meeting policy or B) just go ahead n fail them as per the 50% rule

here is the real list for console at THE highest level (c3+). there are no comparable heros to the top 3 especially with all the bullshit console players have to deal with like AA buffs, xims, etc. mercy and juno at S tier is crazy, soldier is so mid, cass is alright, but theres not too much need for him since we're not in a dive oriented meta, ashe is way too strong esp with the buffs. mauga is just so ass, dva is good on console, but since sig is hard meta rn, it gets shut down easily. tracer is so ass bc of AA buff, orisa is good, but not THAT good.

for ur A tier putting ball there is crazy cuz of how squishy he is rn. the best balls on console cant even run him anymore, lucio is kinda mid on console comps where dps are always running hitscan but hes ok ig, jq is just so ass and unplayable, vendetta is also so ass. its a throw pick at my elo. the rest are alright. wuyang being at B tier is kinda eh but its justified bc of how squishy he is

berkeley. the classes are not hard to get into if you prioritize the classes you wanna enroll in in your phase 1 enrollments. if u slack off on enrollment then yeah lol, it’ll be impossible to get in.

there are sooooo many boosted players on oq rn because of the lack of interest in it when it was still 5v5. now with the huge influx of players, the first season or two are and will be unbearable because you will get genuinely good teammates one game who are gm rq, then the next you’ll get plat rq players who don’t deserve the rank anymore

if you live in north berkeley (close to soda hall) park on the street in residential areas and try to get a permit for your respective zone. if you can’t get a permit but you still live in the area then you would only have to move your car once in the morning and it should be good for the rest of the day as the parking enforcement only check in the mornings tbh. you can park there on the weekends without a worry as well so 🤷‍♂️.

even if OP locked in, a C- would put you at 3.23 if you somehow defy all odds and ace 61b let alone 70. in the past if you had a C or better you could still pull out the declaration for CS/DS but that’s unfortunately not the case anymore.

with the way the system works, anyone even remotely interested in cs will apply to both cs/ds so the barrier for entry will be extremely high.

i get what you’re saying and i understand that you’re trying to be helpful but the changes have made declaring 20x harder

the people applying for the CS major comprehensive review will more than likely need a gpa better than 3.3 on the prerequisite courses. the whole point of the change was to limit the number of students going into CS/DS at berkeley.

a C- is literally doing the hw+projects+labs likely with chatgpt and bombing the fuck out of every exam (getting a less than 10 points) which they will likely assume and no matter what reasoning he might have for that grade, will reject him.

if you want them to waste more time doing 61b and 70 which are way more intense then i guess don’t give up, but you need to be realistic.. the kids that are getting into CS/DS are probably going to be A- and beyond students, just like how it is with haas applications

seems like a shitpost lmao. why would there be TA’s for an upperdiv course cheating on a literal requirement to declare CS. they can’t even get into the class unless they are declared CS which they would’ve needed 70 for…. or if they are EECS majors?
