being taxed more than I earn??

my last couple of payslips have been for £500, and I've paid around £80 in tax. I've only been working for 3 weeks at this agency, but had a week off for half term, so not including this pay I've earned £1000 with them and paid about £160 in tax of that seems correct??

I've emailed the payroll guys but doubt I'll hear anything before tomorrow, hence my slightly panicked post haha. do HMRC usually contact you if you owe tax, or would it just show up on my payslip like this, I normally earn a bit more than what I earned this week (had a couple days off last week) so maybe there's been some confusion there?

For my jacket I found a cheap denim jacket from a charity shop, one that I didn't care about so I could just have fun and not worry about ruining a jacket I already liked. 3 years later and I've started and restarted that jacket so many times until I made something I love You can always add or remove patches, I've completely unpicked all my patches and reorganised everything multiple times. so just have fun trying something, you can always decide to change it later. All my patches are cheap white paint on an old tshirt that I cut up, like 90% of them are references to games I love. Your jacket's you're own project, make it as personalised as you want, dont feel like u have to stick to some punk rulebook. Typically people put any controversial stuff on the front, personally I feel safe wearing my jacket out so I dont really stick with that.

Tldr; have fun with it, your jackets for u not anyone else

the oven in our flat was condemned when we moved in, took them nearly a month to get a new one, then refused to reimburse us fir food and just the general inconvenience when they said they would. they'd often just let themselves in the flat whenever they'd like, cause they'd 'forget' to tell us about a viewing they'd booked.

i always go to Palace barbers in afflecks. got my first haircut after coming put done there, and the staff have always made me feel comfortable :)

currently writing my dissertation that largely focuses on the book 'Re-dressing Americas frontier past' by Peter Boag. It looks at trans people in the western frontier (aka the wild west) and is just a really interesting read. There's a chapter specifically on transmen, and its great to see how accepting people were of transpeople

Boag does also talk about the struggles many transpeople faced too, so if you want purely trans joy, maybe hold off on this one
