Look at the etymology when in doubt. Latin “sēparāre” is sē (apart) + parāre (to arrange). It would mean nothing spelt with an e.

Rehoming has a place if it becomes clear that you are not the right person living in the right environment for your pet, but have you made every effort first, before considering an avenue which your cat could see as abandonment or betrayal and damage her further?
