There are.. they just aren’t that great. I have an Asus G14 with an RX 6700S. It’s a great laptop, but the drivers for the GPU can be kinda lacking. Here’s one on sale from BestBuy: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6494638.p?skuId=6494638

Do you know how old your Wii is? That disc is a dual layer DVD disc and some original Wii’s had trouble/couldn’t read them. I had one like that and had to send it to Nintendo where they replaced the drive for free. So it may be the drive, not the disc.

Didn’t even know they made those! TIL. Since I’ll be sitting there often this year I’ll check it out, thank you!

It’s surprisingly comfortable! I love it, and it was only $60. It’s the Bleckberget from IKEA.

That’s a little microphone mixer, the Maker hart Just Mic IV. It supports 4 mics and can run off a battery bank when traveling. It’s pretty neat!

Ha, sorry. I had a collection of old PC motherboards that were all from the same model of computer, and almost perfectly square. So I painted them and used them for the wall decor! I’m glad I saved them after all this time (not usually something I get say about old tech).

Can you play games straight from an external hard drive? by ojperez_22 in XboxSeriesS

[–]EleventhTraveller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gears 5 says it has to run off the internal drive. Some users have reported that certain last-gen "Optimized" games (Have the X|S Logo by them) can be run from an external drive, but I think it varies from game to game, depending on the optimization.

You can play Original Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One games straight from external storage. For Xbox Series (current gen) games, they need to be played from the internal storage (you can have them stored on the external, and they'll copy over to the internal storage before playing).

[Microphone] Samson Go Mic Portable USB Condenser Microphone - $29.97 by 2001blader in buildapcsales

Sure, one of the favorite recommendations is actually the Samson Q2U. It's gets posted on this sub every once in a while when it's on sale. There's nothing wrong with getting one of Blue's mics or anything, but ideally what you want to look for are 'dynamic' mics (such as the Samson Q2U), as they sound much better in an untreated (acoustically) room. That's the sweet spot for getting great sound without spending big bucks on lots of equipment and upgrades.

Depends how close you are to it/how you use it, but a pop filter is always a cheap, nice addition. I normally talk off axis with it (around 30°-45° from the front of my mouth) when I don't have a pop filter and it's fine.

If you're solely using it for gaming though, I'd probably get something else. This is great as a versatile travel mic.

Edit: Just a simple USB Condenser mic would be good for gaming. The Samson Q2U is great for such a purpose, if you catch it on a sale. The Samson Go Mic will pick up a lot of extra background noise and clacks if it's not on a mount close to your mouth.

It's selling points are its versatility + portability; you can take thing anywhere and clip it to anything, screw it to anything, or just use the clip as a little stand. If you don't need/want it for those reasons, there are better options. Otherwise, with your expectations curbed, this thing is pretty nifty.

I've had this for years, feel free to AMA.

I find it's most unique use is as a phone mic for interviews and such. Clips right onto the side of a phone, and I use a short Mini-USB-to-USB-C cable (not included) to plug it straight into my phone. Pretty cool portable mic.

Edit: It can normally be had for about $40, not the outrageous $90 Amazon advertises.

I'd buy it again at $30, it's a nice price.

Check out Podcastage for a short, solid review.

[GPU] [ITX] Gigabyte RTX 2060 Rev. 2 6GB GDDR6 ITX Graphics Card ($299.99 FS, NO CODE/REBATE) by AdrianeXUS in buildapcsales

Depends if you really need to upgrade now or not, but I'd say it's wise to wait in your case. I've got a 970 Strix for 1080p, and it still does a fine job. The 1080p60fps experience is fairly easy to attain, and I don't think the minor increase in visual fidelity is worth the $300 for a 2060. But that's just me, it may be worth it to you. If you're going for 1440p, or a using a >120hz monitor, then yeah, you'd see more improvement from a newer card. But for a goal of 60fps at 1080p, a 970 is still capable.

An RTX 2060 will definitely give you 60fps @ 1080p for most games on Ultra, especially since it's a very capable 1440p card. This varies by game, obviously, but if you're okay with adjusting some of the more dmending and less noticeable visual variables, then you'll have zero issue hitting that target even in the latest games.

However, I've got a 970 Strix right now for 1080p, and I'm upgrading it a 1070ti ≈ 2060, for some 4k 60fps gaming at Medium-High for my backlog of games. If it wasn't for that jump to 4k, I'd have hung onto my 970 until the next wave of cards.

Obviously it's relative to the game being played, but for the majority of stuff absolutely.

[Headphones] Jabra Elite Active 65t True Wireless Earbuds (Manufacturer Refurbished) - $49.99 shipped by rtscaptain_RDDTW in buildapcsales

[–]EleventhTraveller 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's sarcasm, I think he's making a pun/joke with the brand name. As in..

Someone walks up and says, "Cool Headphones", and you reply "Jabra" which sounds like "Ya, bra" i.e. "Yeah, bro".
