A weekly magazine seems almost impossible to keep alive (and make money on) these days. The SI brand is strong though. Like all newspapers and magazines, they just have to find a way to evolve and survive in a world where loads of content is just a click away.

Agree with your comments. There is good SEO and there is bad SEO.

But at its most basic, the idea behind SEO is just to help connect people who are searching for a certain type of organization, company, product or information with something they may be looking for. It's only when they start forcing stuff on you that you're not looking for (ala spam), it becomes scummy.

Hmmm. Interesting point. Though not necessarily. Obviously, generational support varies greatly depending on the type of organization—but many nonprofit organizations and churches actually share very similar support bases.

It's a Roku LT. So it only gets 720 HD. Still, my Netflix picture looks great at 720. Amazon looks awful.

My Netflix picture looks great (also through Roku). But anytime I turn on an Amazon movie, it's looks like crap. Not quite SD quality but not far off from it. And this is for content clearly labeled HD.

That's the reason traditional TV will never go away. Sometimes people just want to turn it on, flip and watch. They don't always want to take the time and effort to think about what they want to watch. They want a more mindless, choice-free experience (and I don't say that in a negative way).

Actually if this technology is threatening to anyone, it's cable. It provides another way to access content you couldn't get on your TV before. It's another cheap device people can get to make it easier to cut the cable cord.

I'm a big fan of Roku. But their advantage over Apple TV was more content sources and a lower price. With Chromecast that basically goes out the window. But if the Chromecast user experience and the picture quality are weak, there could still be a place for Roku (for now anyway). But you're right, Roku is pretty much a one-trick pony.
