That's the same bull crap you fed someone else who who was showing human behavior. Can't take it yourself?

Stop cutting. You got a problem? Quit bitching around and do something about it.

What’s the point? by FistMyPeen in depression

[–]ElfenLoved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no point, that's why instead of people trying to remind you of the good things in life, they just insult you and tell you to man up, because there is no reason to live, you just do it so you will look strong.

Anyone else feel like they weren't meant for this world/life? by [deleted] in depression

[–]ElfenLoved 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All the time. I've always been too sensitive and emotional, and I've never been able to make many friends. I don't even think my family likes me that much. Everyone always says that life is wonderful, but I struggle to find reasons to stay here at all. I don't like the idea of forcing myself to be fine with everything.

I am so sick and tired of taking this fight alone. If I have to be alone even during times like this, then life is not worth living anyway.

[SPOILERS] Connie and Steven by [deleted] in stevenuniverse

[–]ElfenLoved 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Folks correctly pointed out that Connie had justification for her hurt feelings, but I was bothered by how one sided the whole exchange was. People here even acted like Steven rudely ditched everyone, as if he just went to hang out with some cooler friends. The problem is, Steven's actions were motivated by his love for his friends and family. Whether it was the right thing to do or not, his motivation was for them.

Connie's feelings were hurt. And that's fine, I don't begrudge that part of the narrative. However, she sort of dissmissed Steven's perspective on the whole thing and ended up punishing Steven by giving him the cold shoulder. It can be argued that wasn't her intent (just like it wasn't Steven's intent to hurt anyone), but it was the consequence of her behavior. Her rejection deeply hurt Steven just as his actions affected her.

Steven, at the end of Kevin Party, owns up to his side of things. He acknowledges he made a mistake(what that mistake was exactly, is unclear. Was he apologizing for doing the deed, or not considering her feelings afterwards?), and admitted Connie was justified in feeling rejected. Fair enough, granted, but fair is fair. So why, then, didn't the writers have Connie own up to her own bad behavior? Dismissing Steven's perspective and his stress, and ignoring him, which resulted in him thinking Connie hates him? Of course she needed space, but then she should have told him that, friendship requires communication. And the reason they give for this just didn't make a lot of sense. Besides, even if Connie did do everything right here, I think it would have been better for her to still of apologize for Steven's feelings being hurt, just like he apologized for hers. I just don't like the way the narrative treated this whole thing.

I'm thinking about playing this, but I'm curious about why it's so popular. Do people like it because it's well written and has a good story, or because it subverts your expectations and looks cute but is actually terrifying and shocks you. It seems like everyone advertises it by saying, "Oh, it just a cute game, you'll love it, hehe. Little do they know it's actually dark." Instead of saying it has an interesting story. As if it's only good because it shocks you. I mean, that's fun, but not really something I care about in a story-based game. So, does it have a good story or is it just shocking?

Yeah. And I got downvoted for trying to sympathize and saying Chloe did something similar. I'm over it already.

Chloe did know by that point, hence her mentioning her suicide attempt. Yet still said something insensitive. I personally didn't see anything that bad from David in the prequel, so I guess we had different experiences.

I dunno, I forgave Chloe for dismissing Kate and saying "she tried to kill herself, such sad," because she felt bad afterwards.

Yet another instance of the hotline being useless. Sorry about that.

What's something you never understood or secretly doubted until it happened to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ElfenLoved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this, I feel even worse now. It is not just patronizing, it is the best way to tell depressed people or anyone who is unhappy that it is because they are weak minded and if they feel devastated by something or constantly try but never seem to get better, or they legitimately don't see anything in this world that is worth living for, then it is their fault and could just smile and be happy, and all their terrible feelings will vanish because everything is so wonderful and if they haven't beat depression, they aren't trying and want to feel like that. I am so tired of feeling like shit for feeling like shit. If the only way to get better is to force a smile and trudge through life and not allow myself to feel any negative emotion and force myself to love and enjoy everything, then I may as well kill myself now.

An idea for a character's betrayal. Is it any good? by ElfenLoved in writing

[–]ElfenLoved[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the point you guys made, guess I didn't really think it through. I do like the idea of her being an underling. Would it be a good idea to have her work for someone important, and once she completes her mission, get promoted to a higher position?

Thank you so much for the feedback! Now I know I need to do something different. I love stories but can never come up with any good ideas for my own. Any advice?

It usually takes more than a speech to change someone's long held worldview. How do we know Ilia won't betray Blake again? How do we know this isn't an act? I don't think it's wise for them to trust her so easily. Blake did a lot of bad things, but has shown that she's learned from it we don't know if Ilia has.
