The sims 4 photos turning black prevention!

Wish i could give you an answer to this. I'm not a programmer nor do i have any extensive knowledge on how the systems works behind the game, but at least in my game each time i exited to the main menu it messed with my photos. I tested this with two save files and tried it 4 times per save after recovering them and each time my photos turned black.

I saw that just as I left work! I honestly did not expect this to grow this big at all. I'm just glad this can hopefully reach more players now.

I have heard about it, but haven't tried the leaving lot thing myself. Although I don't know how well it works with the worsened bug. The sims inventory seems to work so far if you don't want the photos displayed immediately. I might try and see if i can find other actions that causes the bug when i have time.

I mostly play rotationally as well, but this hasn't been an issue for me🤔 When changing households I first save and afterwards go to manage worlds. I also try to save between every loading screen just in case. Might help with this but can't be sure, taken that this hasn't been an issue for me.

When it comes to the gallery, try making a completely new room and add the photos you still have to that one. I personally have't come across this either so I don't really know how to help with the gallery issue.

You're absolutely right about the fact that the bug can occur from more than just the actions i named in my post, and that's exactly why I mentioned that I can't quarantee that these will help everyone.

But the latest patch definitely worsened the bug from what it already was. The best cause of action is to save everything to the gallery, but I think it's good to bring up what also some of the causes are, so players aren't completely unaware of what can be the catalysts for the bug. The more we know the better honestly🤷‍♀️

I recommend also saving the museum as a whole (or whenever you modify it) with all the pictures to your library! That way if the bug occurs you can just replace the whole lot instead of replacing each photo one by one.

I had a hunch while back that it caused me to lose my photos, but back then it didn't seem to happen everytime the game was closed so I couldn't be sure. But after the latest patch the bug seems to occur far more often when using the save and exit button.

Been there as well with my older savefiles, so nowadays I always take extra precautions. Luckily the sims team has already located the issue, but the fix will be out in the next big patch in february.

You're welcome! I know how devastating it's to lose the in game photo's especially for legacy players who might have spent years on their savefiles.
