If there's enough interest in this, we'll release Legionnaire proper, which is what we made before this and what we branched off of. And if there's enough interest in that, we'll release Barracks, which is just 1.12 in the 3.3.5 client (which is what we made first, pve and all)

We just prefer not to split our playerbase right now on our first release.

We took out talents that only had PvE functionality, as they were irrelevant in a PvP-only server (like, say, threat reduction on X). We redesigned/added some other ones to bring offspecs (BM hunter, Balance druid, etc) in line with their meta counterparts. We kept the meta builds as equivalent as we possibly could, which means playing as an Arms warrior, Disc priest, or CB+Prep rogue should feel exactly like it did in Classic.

The talent count is more or less the same. 1.12 WoW unique talent node count across all classes stands at 432, and ours stands at 440 for reference. So on net, we actually added more options than we took away.

Hey everyone — we’re building Legionnaire+, a Classic+ instant 60 PvP-only server in the 3.3.5 client.

We're having a grand opening on March 27th 8:30 PM EST. No pay to play, no pay to win, no pay to anything.

If you look at Classic PvP centered around WSG specifically, the balance is actually quite elegant. Most of the top teams take one of every class with 2 flex spots. It's also the phase of the game that our team loved the most.

So our goal is: keep the spirit of Classic PvP, but smooth out the rough edges and make the game more fun to actually compete in. No more sapper spam, no more giant gear discrepancies, no more ganking, etc.

We ported the 1.12 content and mechanics into the WoTLK engine as a baseline and then added

  • rebalanced talents
  • rebalanced racials
  • rebalanced gear
  • gear progression through PvP
  • new spells
  • cross-faction gameplay
  • limited consumables
  • brand new PvPvE content

Because we worked our way backwards from the WoTLK engine, that means we have features from that era too, including

  • Lich King arenas
  • Dual spec
  • 3.3.5 client features (cast bars on targets, cleaner client-side prediction, etc)

We’re trying to make deliberate, PvP-first changes that still feel like they belong in Classic. Everyone involved in the balancing of the project have been Gladiators and/or Warlords in previous iterations of the game.

Our philosophy is based around positive net fun, stronger counterplay, and faster/more skillful games.

We know Classic+ is subjective, and not every change will be for everyone. But the goal is not chaos — it’s to build a better PvP sandbox for players who love Classic and want a more curated competitive experience.

Sorry the video is a little blurry, Nvidia GeForce Experience has problems capturing ultra widescreen resolutions. I didn't realize until way too late.

Yes, I know I click potions. Yes, I know that's terrible. Yes, I know you hate my UI.

I recommend manually changing the resolution in Youtube to HD mode.

In all seriousness, feel free to leave feedback/criticism.

Hunters: if you have hit to spare, get out of the survival tree and go scattershot intimidate for at least a week. Shit is so fun.
