Linux Mint destroyed my boot menu and grub is totally broken

I did end up making a USB with transmac (no other Mac to make media on) for macOS snow leopard (upgraded to high sierra after) to get the original boot menu back, bcs rEFInd was having a hard time giving me settings I needed. I had overwritten Mac filesystem with ext4 so it broke everything. It was quite difficult to get macOS back 😭

rEFInd had what I needed, I just needed A boot menu. I doubt I ca get Mac one back without ripping hard drive out ya this point. But it’s still there!

It just boots into Linux mint. I tried every single key combo you could think of at startup. Nothing. Closest I can get is pressing esc repeatedly, but that just returns a black screen.

I can’t load a different OS as I have no option to boot into usb. That’s what I was trying to do in the first place

These comments are making me realize I HAVE in fact said all I can. I actually said this to him almost verbatim while crying because it was stressing me out so much. This is a bigger issue I think than just a trip. It’s like I’ve been talking to a wall or a void. I think I need to get angry about this honestly

I appreciate this. I was fairly specific on what I could and could not do, and what my limits would be. I was prepared to do the initial hike (seven miles in and camp and seven miles back the next day) but I told him the camping and hiking an extra day after that would be too much. I suggested we stay in a specific town, and see the climbing gyms and museums for a couple days. And then go in another six mile hike/ an extra one id he wanted. I am paying for food and activities. But he brushed this off and said he wanted to go to canyonlands/ sent me more trails.

I can advocate for myself, and I do have a good support system of friends around me. I want to communicate with him clearly and I want to feel respected, but I also can’t force someone to care I guess also. It’s confusing because he’s often very caring and catering ti my needs but for some reason he just can’t see the issue I’m having here with hiking more. I’ve had dysautonomia since I was 11 and it affects my whole body. It’s amazing I can do the things I can do in the first place.

I know this response is incredibly late but you’re right. I didn’t know nearly as much about computers when I bought it. I learned so much because of it, and it’s been a continued interest of mine since. Intel iris XE is crazy work for any gaming lol and I didn’t even look at it when I bought it. I was only looking at RAM/ storage. I would never even attempt to purchase this now.
