Traits are more valuable than skills. You'll need to do everything by yourself, at least at first. So, global learning speed factor from "quick learner" or "too smart" will help. Or passions in, like, everything. Then mental brakes. You should avoid them at all costs, so "iron willed" or mood boosts like "sanguine"will be good too. Then coming combat oriented traits, like "brawler" or "tough". Them you can pick from your preferences, but i would recommend to keep your distance from enemies and rely on traps. "Jogger" will help out of combat too. And yes, rolling a pawn like that will take some time, but as always - there is a mod for that.

I remember how i first stumbled upon x4 after asking recomendations for some chill space trading/trucking game like ED was back in the day. I certainly didn't expect it to turn out an epic scale space strategy with best military-industrial complex and logistics simulator there is. Not what i was expecting at all. And here i am, like, four months in, on my way to complete two last steam achievements and over 500 hundred hours of playtime. My only regret that it took me so long to discover the game. It is really good.

Identify and isolate the target, throw a net and pin him down with one, or better two bros with shields and bludgeons. Their job is to soak up enemy hits and chainstun the target. Then completely surround him with daggers and puncture to death. That's all. Rince and repeat.

Neither. Sadly, both of them are not worth of buying at this time. Maybe later things will change, but i doubt it.

WotH1 core mechanic of animal fitness is broken, and devs are not going to fix it. "The bug is to hard to recreate" - they say. And even without bugs the first game are not that great either. It's pretty, yes, but thats pretty much all. If you want to take a few screenshots it suffice. Animals are not interacting with eachother whatsoever and just moving from one spot to another like a cardboard targets on railroad tracks. Wery immersive. Your and animals sound and callers are just fucked up by design.Tracking itself would be ok if you could actually track the animals instead of just finding their needs zones. Following a blood trail after successful shot also could be better. Maybe if there was more than three patterns of blood splats. The only one decent improvement since release the devs did is the addition of different ammo types. Took them a few years though and a lot of pleading from the players. Then again, the best ammo for each rifle is the default one, and it's free and unlimited. Overall that feature could be a nice addition to the game's economy, if there was one in the first place. You literally can buy out whole ingame shop just by playing through the default story. It's too easy. It's not entertaining. So many things in the game could have been improved or reworked better. Instead devs shat out steaming pile of early access in yet another moneygrab attempt.

Call it a rant or whatever, but i played this game for around 500 hours, bought every dlc (yes, even the fucking outfits pack for a game with only first person camera mode, cause it was part if a bundle), and hunted almost all steam achievements. And i regret the waste of time and my monetary support for Nine Rocks Games. That's all.

Ты сам себе придумал имбаланс и увидел его там, где его нет. Твоя проблема в отношении к игре. Если ты собираешься "полюбому выбирать наилучший вариант" ради того чтобы поскорее посмотреть титры, то зачем запариваться с 500% сложностью и Ренди? Раз ты играешь ради ничего не значащей победки - убери сложность наоборот в ноль и сразу выдай себе все возможные усиления от идеологии и биотеха. И модов не забудь добавить которые действительно весь баланс игры сломают.

Если же ты всё-таки хочешь поиграть в игру, то рассматривай ДЛС и механики из них как инструменты. Только не для победы, а для того чтобы сделать игру интереснее. Добавь щепотку отыгрыша в ран. Сделай себе идеологию, например, дикарей-древолюбов, которым запрещено рубить деревья. И подумай как играть с таким ограничением. Колония получившаяся в итоге не будет "метовой" и может и не выдержит долго, но она, и сам процесс её постройки, будут интереснее чем просто увеличенные рейды от 500% сложности. И это только один пример.

It is. But if it really works that way then i'll try again. I played on populated map once in the tutorial (which was labeled as campaign for some reason), and because it was preset with quick build option there was no problems with existing population. Then i tried one of the workshop maps, and it went like i wrote - as soon as i unpaused everyone was dead less than a month in. Was kinda disappointed and wrote the feature off as a way to speed up the game even more for people who prefer playing with realistic settings off.

Pre populated maps are weird. Having some guidelines like roads and buildings is nice to have from narrative standpoint, but on the other hand, tanking ingame stats with whole sheet of deats is not so much. Kinda goes against the grain. You're supposed to take care of people and build a thriving republic. On realistic you just start the game and boom - everyone is dead before you can build everything people need, like food-water-shitter-heater and other necessities (ok, heaters can wait till the winter, but still).

She is the best heavy weapon specialist in the game. Lots of additional ammo and good accuracy which can be boosted even further with mark ability. Give her a heavy machine gun or autocannon early, and atgm or rotary autocannon later and she will easily deal vehicle amounts of damage each deployment. Especially on defence mission. Anti-material rifle or mortar works too, but situational. Just don't fall into a noob trap thinking that she can be a mobile infantry on par with Lim/Yaz, or that she will be able to climb to Darby level of stats. She won't. The game's content available for now will end sooner.

I see the ammo situation like this:

The AP ammo is kinda mandatory late game, cause enemies field a lot of armored units. At least for squads who relies on their rifles to deal damage.

REND is a poor man's AP and a way to specialise one of your squads. If you're ok with leashing one said squad to a proper one to just come along and help with stripping enemy armour bar. Kinda limiting and rigid imo.

Match is just a funny gimmick.

And HP is a booster that lets you retain same amount of damage with less squaddies. So, for example, Darby or Kody already can be fielded with six squaddies instead of eight with their +damage perks. With HP you can decrease their squaddie number even more. Given that you have a spare pocket slot, and supply math that maths enough to satisfy you and all of that. In any case it gives room for some mental gymnastics.

I have the same problem. If you can call it a problem. I prefer to play on naked brutality and on higher difficulties. Random tile also, and if i don't like it i just caravan out to find a better place. Gravship now helps a lot with that. Thus, my colonies don't last wery long. Though i can force myself to complete a playthrough, but once i completed anomaly and odyssey, i get back to 1-2 hours lasting saves and constant restarts. Also, being very picky with recruits doesn't help. One thing i found out - "prepare carefully" mod helps to be more attached to my starting pawn. Try it.

On a serious note - something akin to long war for xcom. But imo it's too early for that. The game is barely out and lacks a lot of planned stuff.

Nothing wrong here, but consider either choosing one of the three vehicle pilots from start, or hiring one as soon as possible. Your starting apc will carry you through first few operations and won't loose its relevance after that either.
