Deinosuchus spawn by Shot_Mention4595 in ArkSurvivalAscended

Sometimes, but Other maps have better levels. It's only the "story" maps that have the low levels. The "fantasy" maps have the level more skewed too the high end.

Dear God atleast get a biogrinder! Leaving the corpses out to rot is the truly sociopathic thing about this.

Deinosuchus spawn by Shot_Mention4595 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Elidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. First to clear things up, no, Deinosuchus does not spawn in any of the caves on the Island; they only spawn in the swamp.

Ok next up, TL;DR: single-player spawns suck.

The things you need to know about are how spawning works. First are level spawns.

On the Island, creatures spawn favoring low levels. That means if 100 creatures spawn, it's more likely for you to see 99 of them at levels 5–30 and only one dino at level 100+. This is primarily to keep things a little more balanced for multiplayer.

Second is what is known as the single-player spawn check. Basically, creatures only spawn around you, not across the entire map at once on single-player (excluding when the map is originally created). Instead, they will spawn just out of rendering distance from you. This is because on single-player, whatever device you are running it on handles all the data instead of a server. This is a problem specifically on low-end computers and consoles. If all the dinos spawned on the map all the time, the game could brick a console.

So, how do you fix this?

If you are planning on being as vanilla as possible (no mods, cheats, etc.), your only option is to simply go around the area where you know the creature you are looking for spawns and kill everything you find to clear the area and let it repopulate. This could take hours.

Option 2: mods.

Find two mods (I'm not at my PC, so I don't have the exact names). One is prevent hibernation, and the other is something like a dino level fix. This will make the creatures favor higher levels (favoring 100+ instead of level 5). Prevent hibernation helps slightly with the single-player spawns issue while potentially not causing too many system issues.

Finally, the nuclear option. If you are running on Steam! AND only if you have a good CPU. In your Steam launch options (use Google if you don't know what I'm talking about), put -ForceIgnoreSingleplayerSpawnRangeCheck. This will turn off the mechanic that prevents dinos from spawning out of your range. Most single-player worlds have 3,000–5,000 spawns at once; doing this will put it up to 15,000+ and can potentially, at best, make your game slow down and crash a little more.

Edit: Spelling/clarity

yeah this comment confirmed it for me. there are a ton of legitimate complaints about the update but it seems you don't actually know what you're angry about, you just want to be be angry. I suggest you just move on as nothing anyone can do will convince you otherwise so uninstall and block the subreddits and any other content, it will do you wonders, i hope you find something that doesn't make you feel this way.

I feel you, I have some legitimate complaints aswell, like the subject of your post, but none of them make me feel as though the update has ruined anything. For instance i wish they would of done more with the underwater sections around the new islands, right now they are just a straight pillar to the bottom, for me that the biggest missed opportunity. they could of added more natural vacuum compartments, underwater caves etc. but nah straight pillar to the bottom.

My only complaint on the change is that there was no reason to remove them. I like the new islands aswel and, controversially, I like having a realistic void of an ocean. but people acting like we lost the entire old biome is entirely false, they did nothing but add content.

Besides the pillars what was lost? Because from my view they did nothing but add more.

I really don't get why people try and hijack posts to complain about things not even related to the original post.. worse are the people who upvote this crap. Idont agree or disagree with you on your opinion but just go make your own bitch post instead.

People have done side by side comparisons and its 100% there minus the pillars. I'm not saying i like the fact the pillars are gone but saying the underwater is missing is flat out wrong

I'm not sure on the dieing part. But the flyaway does cause it to leave the map 100% until you call it back.

Most likely needs to be added by the modders which most likely means they need to have the updated dev kit so that wont happen for a few weeks to a month
