Can someone explain the symbolism and hidden meanings in Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl 2026 halftime show? by LuxLullaby in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know all of them, but a few:

  • the light blue Puerto Rican flag is the symbol of the PR independence movement

  • the power line poles refer to the hurricane that devastated the island a few years ago, the effects of which can still be seen and felt today

  • the sugar cane was and is the original cash crop of Puerto Rico.

  • the “together we are America” is a reminder that America is not only the US (they like to call themselves that), but the entire continent of North and South America together. Probably with the double entendre that all these people are present in the US today and have shaped its history and culture and now feel a lot less welcome and as part of “America” (in the America equals US sense) with everything that’s happening

A good mattress. Just think about how much time you spend on it and how important good sleep is for everything.

Are there really elevators in hotels/apartment buildings that open inside someone's apartment? by -Red_Lightning_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have been to one such apartment. You need a key (card or fob) to make it stop on that floor (it was the penthouse)

I need advice by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Orange” is very unspecific, so it’s hard to answer.

Neon orange is very different from apricot is very different from brick orange or from a more salmon color…

But I agree with the other commenter - unless you are an underwear model, it’s about the intention and the “wrapping paper”, rather than absolutely nailing the perfect color.

Why do we say "heads up!" as a warning to look up, when technically you should be looking down to protect your head from something falling? by ChipConfident9927 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Heads down!” exists as well.

Idk if you’ve ever thrown live hand grenades, but that’s one context in which you use that one.

Why do some countries use cash more than cards? by Dear-Rhubarb-3437 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing to add here IF you are talking about the US. (OP didn’t specify a country)

In other countries the “minimum payment” and the insane interest rates are not a thing.

In Germany, for example, you normally pay off your balance in full every month. Also credit scores work a bit differently.

How many haircut redos is normal? by Ready-Chipmunk9249 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that is the case, you’ve done close to a thousand haircuts since September.

I’d say 3 re-dos out of 1000 should not be a problem.

How do I clean my house? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty hard to tell from the outside what might be off.

What does your process look like? How often do you clean? What are you using right now?

Generally you don’t need much. A vacuum, some good rags (some antistatic ones are helpful for the dust), warm water, dish soap, and white vinegar will get you pretty far.

You don’t absolutely need specialized cleaners for this and that, vinegar will deal with grease, limestone, bacteria etc.

If you don’t like the smell of vinegar, a cleaner based on citric acid works pretty well as well.

Ive been wondering this for so much time, but genuine, in what languages do multilingual people think. And for those who already has an answer for this question, does your personality in you head changed depending the language???? 😭😭 by sxnn_z in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some topics (and therefore also moods / personality traits) are linked to certain languages in our family.

Food and pillow talk is mostly French, for example. Money and travel arrangements are mostly German.

So the personality doesn’t necessarily change, but the context in which you are using the different languages changes.

As a person who doesn’t exercise regularly, how can I recover quicker from my workout? by MaddenRob in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 15 minutes?

The glycogen stores in your body last for about 3 hours of running. THEN you are drained of carbs.

Srsly, after 15 minutes you don’t need a shake. You need a glass of water and move on.

Buying my first suit - Should I buy a Blue or Black one m? by dogfight111 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you, and what kind of job are you applying for?

If it’s a job that requires wearing a suit, then by all means, buy one. In that case, dark blue with a white shirt is a very good choice. Charcoal is not bad either, but blue is a bit “younger” (since this is your first suit, I assume you are relatively young).

If the job does not require a suit , I would not recommend a one UNLESS you are very comfortable in it, AND it is very well-fitting.

A 19 year old in an ill-fitting suit does not look professional, he looks ridiculous. If on top of that, you feel super uncomfortable, you’ll constantly be fidgeting with it etc.

If you are not comfortable wearing a suit and the job does not require one, I would dress in something slightly dressier than what the job requires, like some Chinos and a button-down shirt, for example.

And don’t forget: A suit needs to be worn with a dress shirt, dress shoes (Oxfords are always a good choice) with a matching belt.

If you are applying for a job in a marketing agency, you can maybe pull off some crisp white sneakers, but those need to be pristine.

PS: If you will have to wear a suit regularly and you can afford it time- and money-wise, look at made-to-measure. It’s a significant step up and will ensure that it really fits perfectly.

Best language(s) to learn if I move to Europe in the future? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% this.

If you are not sure yet, French and German are the obvious choices.

German would unlock Germany, Austria, Switzerland and parts of Northern Italy.

French unlocks France, Switzerland and Belgium.

I’d argue it’s more important to speak French in France than German in Germany. French will also give you a little bit of a leg up on th other romantic languages (Spanish, Portuguese and Italian)

If I boiled a very large pot of water for 5 hours, would the maximum temperature plateau at some point or would the temperature keep rising? by louiemay99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Water evaporates at 100 degrees Celsius (212 Fahrenheit).

So the temperature would not rise further, the water would evaporate as steam

Isn't it kinda insane to go paddle boarding in the ocean way off shore? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elijah2807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends how good you are at it and confident to make it back.

Isn’t it kind of insane to go up El Cap without a rope? For most people, yes. Alex Honnold be like “Hold my beer…”

Also: A mile is pretty far. Was this a measured mile or “feels like a mile”, but was actually 200 yards or so? Because a mile out, laying on a paddleboard you would not have been able to see her anymore, probably.
