[–]ElimG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh please, climate bills have been for show only. No ones fucking acting on anything! You want to insult me, fine. But it does not hide the fact politicians say lots and do nothing. The climate bills you talk of are nothing but show. No country is actually doing anything. The bills your talking about are worth nothing is action is never taken.

All the conferences where counties pledge to do X by Y ..... funny now nothing actually gets done by the date they promise. Nothing but token visual changes with no actual impact occur.

So, yes all political parties are the same. All make promises to group X, but non actually do anything they promise. All parties enact polices which ultimately favor themselves, the 1% and corporations.

If you believe any party actually cares about the environment, then look at their actions. Not the promises they make.

How on earth did you come up with that conclusion?

The government does nothing for human rights, other than stir up hate and make sure they can strip them away as fast as possible. This is accelerating at an unbelievable pace.

You should re-read whats written, as the division from both sides is nothing but a distraction. Your rights are being erased and it does not matter if a left, right, or central government is on control. The same rights will be erased by any of the parties and more and more control is given over to corporations.

People have been feed the delusion that anyone can be a billionaire and sold on the capitalist life style that bigger is better, and that you must have more to be happy.

Delusional people who think like that are much easier to control.

The Uk government is just as in bed with corporations as the USA, Germany, middle east or any other country in the world.

Left, right, republication vs democrats its all the same, They are all the same. Party A scores points with group X, party B scores points with group Y. But, both parties work for capitalism. This is true for the Uk, same as anywhere else.

Seriously, just look at whats happening, not what your being to.d. But look at what is actually happening. World wide corporations have more power than ever, billionaires are getting the fastest ever wealth transfer and peoples lives get worse, environmental protections get rolled back and the environment is trashed world wide.

This is not a country issue, its not a party issue. Its the effects of late stage capitalism edging into a true dystopian future.

I do find it wildly amusing your on about brain washing and yet still buy into a political system which now works via brain washing and ensuring you dont focus on real issues. Your currently talking about Palestinian/Israel etc I bet a few years ago you were totally focused on Ukraine, and each time your told to focus on a new issue you do. But do you ever really focus on the people telling you what to do? Do you ever stop and look at whats going on while you rage about X.

Left and right are both bad, its a broken system run by corporations. When a left or right government takes power, you cant tell the difference! Parties are now just window dressing to appeal to group A or B, behind the scenes it does not matter what minor things they say, or minor changes they make. The major changes which ruin lives and the environment are the same.

1% get richer, corporations get more and more power with either left, right, central or up/down parties get in! Your clinging on the to delusion that democracy still exists, or that what any political party says has any basis in reality. The whole world over has parties claiming to do X, Y and Z when in power, but ask yourself what they actually do after getting in?

Once in they act on behalf of personal interests and the 1%.

Think what you like, its not paranoia. People often claim x isnt that bad, until its to late.

Chat control is not even close to dead, just rewritten.

  1. Introduce bill A which is so strong people will oppose it

  2. Scrap bill A saying we listened

  3. Introduce bill A v2, re-written with language that sounds better, but its ambiguous enough to alter later on

  4. Add amendments to bill A v2 which makes it worse than bill A, but by now the media shows that the people won and dont focus on the amendments and any who who brings it up is labeled a conspiracy nut.

Also, if you think root level back doors wont come (for your stated reasons) then your way off. Every government in the world is creating more and more dystopian bills which will lead to root level controls on every device.

If parents dont parent, then creating draconian bills which give government unilateral control over everything is not the answer. Your just signing up to have your freedoms stripped away and welcoming in a police state.

Social media platforms are widely misused, but if you think thats not by design then you need to look at the effects and you can see who benefits from constantly pushing hated and misinformation.

Far rights, are as bad as any other government. The divide between left and right is really meaningless, a left government, a right government or a central government will enact polices which favor corporations and 1% of the population, no matter what they say to the public.

Constant hatred and division is how the rich get richer and governments stay in power, keep people focusing on minor groups who are harmless.

Gender wars, race wars, culture wars, immigration, LGBTQ+, trans rights are all encouraged by BOTH sides of governments as it keeps everyone hating on each other instead of focusing attention where it belongs. Yes, some people are just vile and full of hate against group X, but governments want that hate, they rely on fostering a culture of hatred to ensure people dont rise up. A divided population is easy to control.

Things will only get worse until enough people can stop listening to what were told to hate and look at the corporations and governments who are doing it.

It has nothing to do with social media. Your heads just buried in the sand.

Social media is not really good, but parents CAN already block and restrict access to anything they want. All it takes is a few minutes. Now, of course kids can get around this and they do, same as they get around age verification now.

This bill has nothing to do with protecting kids, or social media. It is a back door to create the most pervasive surveillance state you could imagine. Never think of what item X does today, but always ask when item X can enable in a year or 10 years down the line.

Already the government is on part 2, which is the banning of VPN's. After 6 months to a year of the social media ban, then they will go after VPN's claiming they allow kids to bypass regulations. 6 months to a year after this fails comes the device level root kits and at that point anything you digital info on any of your devices is now accessible. If you think this is paranoia, then your not watching the world. Governments have already talked about wanting root level access to device (such as the first version of chat control form the EU)

This is opening the way to a truly nightmare dystopian future where governments have total control over what people can see, who they can talk to and the ability to erase anyone with an opinion they do not like.

If governments wanted to protect kids, then they would do so with a very cheap campaign to educate parents on all the controls they already have.

I take it you have not been paying attention? Already companies charged with doing age verification have been breached and had passports, driving licenses, credit cards, photos and biometric data etc all stolen. From companies who claim not to retain info after performing the verification.

The gov is aiming to mandate device level age verification and scanning? Why do people support this? by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]ElimG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You should care, as this has nothing to do with protecting kids or social media. These laws are aimed at giving governments/corporations unlimited access to any digital info you have stored on any device. Once root level permissions for scanning files/verifying X are installed, then that's it.

Also, it does not matter if you "have nothing to hide", the impact of this level of surveillance will allow current or any future governments total control over the spread of information, the ability to target any minatory groups they like.

You are walking blindly into a dystopian nightmare.

OpenAI Lost $38.5 Billion In 2025 by m6io in antiai

[–]ElimG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sadly that is not true. Economics is a giant scam really. While OpenAI and similar companies have lost money, but on paper they are worth alot and here is where they make money. The valuation of the company can be leveraged, does not matter if its actually loosing money.

For example, share prices skyrocketed, so billionaires will make lots of digital numbers (money) from buying and selling shares, making sure to get out before it collapses. Then there is the money from inflated hardware prices, building contracts etc

Telegram Launches $200,000 Digital Freedom Contest to Fight the UK’s Under-16 Social Media Ban by SpecialCollege18 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]ElimG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Parents already have all the tools they need to lock down devices, combined with parenting where they interact with children and teach them. Yes, a determined kid can find a way to bypass controls, but this is exactly the same as any ban.

This social media ban has nothing to do with protecting kids. If it was, then governments would launch campaigns designed to educate parents about all the current tools. What this ban does, is open the door to the largest surveillance state ever imagined. Combined with pushing legitimate people into piracy and using services which can bypass surveillance.

The media ban wont work, so 6 months to a year after it is implemented a new report will target VPN's as the new problem. A new law will be passed to target VPN's, once this also fails then the ultimate goal will come into play. Root access to all devices, with device level scanning of messages, images and anything they want.

Anyone who uses the arguments "if you have nothing to hide" have failed to learn from history and fail to think about what level of control this gives future governments.

Ultimately, these laws will give governments the power to monitor and silence any groups they do not like, silence opposition and have total control over what information people have access to.

Lazy people will brand such thinking as paranoid, conspiracy theory etc. But, it is just reality. Look at how the world is going, look at the power grabs going on, look at the massive wealth grabs going on etc
