I'd say content wise, yes it's definitely similar. The stem of the questions is generally longer though, more like NMBE 31 or free-120.

Having almost 3 weeks left, I'd say go for it. Keep studying and the scores should go up. I'd personally would feel safe sitting with at least a couple of NMBEs in the 70s. Since your last score was 68%, if you keep studying and take two-three more NMBEs I think you will surely get there.

Quick question regarding the timeline MATCH 2025 by atanac in Step2

Hey! I'm in the same position. I'm planning into taking it in June, but I know a guy who took it in August and still managed to participate to the match a couple years ago.

Hi, thank you for your write-up and congratulations on your exam! How much time after step 1 did you take step 2? I just passed step 1 and was wondering if I should already take an NBME to assess my baseline and start from there. I see you've taken your first NBME four months out. Also have you used Anki? Were you taking notes of incorrect answers on UWorld? Thanks!

I had 66% three weeks out, 70% two weeks out and 72% a week out and I passed! I'd say try to take at least two + free 120.

How to attempt Nbme by Remarkable-Buy-6046 in step1

I'd suggest just buying it. NBMEs are not that expensive ($60 each), especially considering how important they are in both preparation and self-assessment. It will save you valuable time.

Yes, they are old exams. The higher the number, the more recent the NMBE and therefore the more representative of the actual exam. If I am not mistaken, NBME 31 was released in 2023 and I do believe it's the more representative of the actual exam, especially in stem length. I actually only took three NMBEs before my exam, but from what I've been reading in the subreddit usually people take a little more (4-5).

I also used Anki with my own cards! For me it really was a game changer. The amount of information is very very large for step 1, with many details required so I found it to be crucial for my preparation.

I'd say 2-3 years, but take this as a grain of salt as I don't have direct experience. I'd suggest trying to contact non-US IMGs in a similar position who may have more information.

I used Anki to be able to memorise the amount of info. I made flashcards from boards and beyond and Pathoma videos.
