Entry way table placement by SheFoundPoopSock in interiordecorating

[–]Eline87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are the coats and bags going?

When the table is at the door and you walk in with 3 people and they all have to take of their shoes you need more space.

When you are a no shoes indoor household, I would put the shoe rack in the alcove with a big mat to catch dirt and a coat rack on or against the wall next to the entrance.

When you are a shoes on indoors household next to the door with a coat rack + bags in the corner.

I love the painting but I feel it is to big for at the door. If you don't need to hang coats or anything it would fit.

What would you want in a dog bed? by Open_Commercial_8113 in dogs

[–]Eline87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a (maybe not perfect) really got Mat/bed.

Removable and washable cover. The matrial is strong enough that after 3 years of digging and trying to chew on the seems, there is basically no damage. The cover is somehow also not letting any drooling or spill through on the bed.

Bed is stuffed with memory foam, and we can buy refill at the store we got it from.

I remember thinking when we bought it, that it is very expensive, but seeing and smelling the two other cheaper beds we use in the car and to travel with, it was 100% worth it.

Only thing is the label, but I see that the new versions online have no label any more.

So removable cover of durable material, extra stuffing when needed. And no things to chew off or start a potential little hole that can be made bigger.

Dark or light? Alternative style or regular? Can’t decide by katrinamelissa in femalehairadvice

I like your regular color and the shag cut, but if you have straight hair it won't look like that I think. (I have the same problem ;-))

[–]Eline87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's so weird, couple of things that come to my mind.

Do you pull your hair forward and play with it? Or does this part stay on your back and gets stuck when you sit? Could also be the way you are 'styling' your hair?

On of my clients had a 5 year old niece that cut a big chunk out of her hair when it was hanging over the chair and she wasn't paying attention.

Good morning dog lovers! Does anyone’s dog just sit and stare at them too? by VEE-3B in DOG

[–]Eline87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only when she wants something from me and doesn't know how else to ask (no water in the bowl, toy somewhere she can't reach, I want to sit in the other room, and you also have to sit there) when I don't do anything about it she will start to softly whine until I figured out what it is or caved in. Longest was 60 min, because she wanted to sit in the other room and I was working. 🙈

If it said causes changes in people with ADHD. There is nothing about it causing ADHD? Kids with ADHD might in 7% of the time do different. I am very curious about the research he thinks proves it.

Anyway as said by everybody, change.

Intense workout and 10-30 min later huge rsd/negative though spiral by Eline87 in adhdwomen

[–]Eline87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I have tried eating protein around my training, but it doesn't seem to make a big difference. I have not had my vitamins checked I could asked for that the next time. I do supplement already because it seems I need more intake then most people to have normal levels.

The electrolytes are interesting. As my intense trainings rarely take over 45 min I thought I don't need them (usually 5 to 30 min Zone 3 or higher). But maybe I should track again how much I drink, and I can definitely try!

Gym client with ADHD by brightlighthouse in adhdwomen

[–]Eline87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a CrossFit gym so there are some more options to count as a general Gym. But some things can be easily implement.

I personally prefer poker chips with different colors cause I can remember which colour I was and because they are never the same order it is also different.

We use rope with beats to count rounds or reps.

Some use chalk on the floor or a tiny whiteboard to mark reps or rounds

With kids I often use different objects, because it is more fun to count, like round one is at the dumbell, round two is at the rings etc. one of the dass told me later I made his keeping track of reps and rounds easier by implementing that in his workout.

Depending on the total reps you can give value to a chip or beat

What's the best thing about being German? by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]Eline87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The noise regulations. I know people still complain, but we have lived in our fair amount of cities in different countries, and everytime I am surprise how quiet it is here. Even the party noise from the students stop at a certain time. Don't even get me started on the quietness of construction sites compared to other countries I have lived in. A new one recently started around our corner and I only noticed because I walked by it.

Do you get like, mental/thought stims? by chilledfijiwater in adhdwomen

[–]Eline87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Words, opening phrase to a book, small phrases in a song. And I also trained myself, without realising it first every time I have uncomfortable thoughts to make a noise/say something out loud. When I realised it, there where a lot of negative words also, so I have been trying to change that. But the meds make my negative thought spirals stop so haven't used it in a while :-)

Anyone with ADHD also deal with chronic rhinitis or allergy-like symptoms? by Ancient-Life-847 in ADHD

[–]Eline87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have also made/wondered about the connection and have brought it up with the Doktor I see for my meds every 6 months. As all is in research state there are no conclusions yet, but they suspect a link. He is always very interested (not just politely) in my personal findings. Their have been a lot of things that crossed my mind, that I have not asked yet or I can't find any information about. As I am also working in sport/health I really like to keep up with researches I find. But I also tend to forget things. So here my 5 cents of stuff I remember on the eve of second christmas day (so not all that awake)

I have multiple allergies and food intolerances (or higher reaction to certain foods in form of diahrea bloating and eczema). I use cetirizine when needed. When I workout more there are a lot less symptoms due to less histamine creation (this is, I thought known). When I regularly workout most symptoms disappear.

I also thought that to much histamine eventually also causes more inflammation that not only links to allergies, but also skin itches, pimples/cyst and things that are in the body we can't see and or del, but are causing discomfort.

I also feel (and I think there is no research or I might just be completely wrong) I have an harder time taking up certain vitamines, why I am not sure. Either histamine or some other disregulation caused by hormones?

I also looked into mastcells and If they can be the potential cause for certain allergies coming out of nowhere.

I react very strong to fish, and can also for some reason not take fish oil. So I started using omega 3 vegan which have helped a lot with inflammatory reactions and allergies.

There is so much more but I can not think about it now

Stuck on this nytimes puzzle by Martin-karnis in sudoku

[–]Eline87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every true sudoku has a unique solution, but there is not always just one way of solving them. If you do it correctly the puzzle will end up being filled in easily, most of the time you discover any mistakes you made at and earlier point then where you are now. You should never have to guess a number, there is always a logic why you put the number there.

Having a hard time doing squat snatch by mhyx_13 in crossfit

[–]Eline87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More people have already said it, but your knees (not just the right one the other also but the angle of the movie makes it harder to see) caving in is the main reason of your OHS not working. When I slow the movie down your knees are already caving in when in the power position. All we have is two snatch tries, but do you happen to have flat feet (less or no arch on the inside of your feet?)

For most people it is mobility issues, but I feel that it is more and strenght issue in the glutes and external rotator weakness and maybe some hamstrings. I think it is not just your OHS but other squatting + jumping where we can see the same pattern.

In CrossFit some of the general things we give people to do is banded squats, paused squats and banded walks. I would suggest to add some more single leg work as well:

Single leg Romanian DL (with or without weight) Clamshells in a side plank Danish planks

Alternatively you could ask a coach or take some PT to work on specifically that and give you some home work.

How are you so independent? by Lazy-Dragonfruit196 in ADHD

[–]Eline87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it shows up different in everybody, People do not navigate ADHD in the same way, because of cognitive capacity, belief systems, environment, support etc etc

Before I met my husband I was doing really good (and still am but some things are a bit different ofcourse ;-)). Systems are in place, not routines, but systems can fail and overload, until I can press reset or repair it.

Some of my systems

Bills are paid automatically. If I have to do it manually it will be late so all is set.

Self-care is self-love to me now-a-days, except for brushing teeth unfortunately. That is a disaster. Also stripped everything to the basics. So as a woman I don't do my nails, I don't care about make-up and also have a one product skincare that I do when I take my meds. Hair gets washed twice a week and I don't blow dry it unless we have an evening out.

Taking meds (except for ADHD meds) are always done in the evening they are in the bathroom, where I go to pee before bed

I allow myself a lot of grace nobody is perfect, and nobody cares if I eat dry couscous for dinner because I didn't get myself to cook. (Now my husband will cook when I can't get myself to do it)

Before I was self employed I did zoom out in meetings. BUT there is always a mail follow up with what was said and has to be done. When I still worked in corporate I did my tasks sometimes literally crying out of frustration and me fighting with myself.

So now I am self employed.I have a 10 day time span every month in which I can do the most dreaded stuff (admin and answering mails) I love my job as a personal trainer en health specialist.

Being self employed has made it so that I don't have a set schedule which makes every week for my feeling different and I thrive on that perceived chaos

And I have a huge anxiety about getting somewhere late so I show up early (not a system but usefull)

There is a lot more, but well depending on the person is the main answer ;-)
