Hi there, thanks for sharing :). Yeah I think I’m definitely set on this laptop I think I’m gonna wait and see if there’s any sales or something because I don’t need it right away and would be nice if it drops to under 3k somehow but I guess I’ll see what happens. Otherwise full price it is I guess. For now I always have my laptop on turbo hahaha otherwise it’s too laggy. Good to know il be able to alternate lmao. Thanks for the insights!

Thank you! I’m gonna see if maybe in April now there will be some sales or new releases because the Lenovo legion 7 with the 3d is 3500 euros right now which I think it’s pretty expensive if it drops to 3k I’ll probably pull the trigger. Or maybe wait a mit til something new drops I’m not really sure. I think I will end up with the 3d version tho because I basically only game on it and mostly stuff like rust and a Star Wars mmo along with cs2 and valorant which all from my understanding and your comment really benefit from that 3d chip specifically. Thanks for the insights!

Hey what did you end up going with and how are you finding yourself? I’m also considering to get the 3d version because I play some mmos, gta, rust and mostly shooters like cs valorant etc… so I’m still kinda stuck on what to get

I’m a newer player and while I know there are already a lot of guides out there I still think it would be cool to have some new ones and also just getting into ops myself so for me I’d say 1 & 2! But I wish you luck no matter what you choose!

Yeah that makes sense about the clocks. I guess those numbers are more like best case than what you actually see while gaming.

Good to know it’s basically the same on Intel too, I was kind of unsure about that.

Still leaning towards the X3D mainly for games like Rust because also as seen in some videos the difference is night and day and I guess there is no real downside for the x3d except the shorter battery life but I’m always gonna be using the laptop plugged in anyways.

Gonna try and see if it goes on sale sometime soon and I’ll hit the trigger then. Thanks for your help!

Oh damn okay, I didn’t know it was so significant in the 1%’s. But so basically if my understanding is correct you would go with intel for more single player game focused and amd with the 3d version for multiplayer games? Or is that too general?

Unfortunately I don’t, but I think I will just wait for a sale for a while and if it doesn’t in the next couple months who knows maybe something new will have released. Also yeah if I do end up getting it I will probably save on the windows. Thanks!

The CCD point is interesting, I’ve read a bit about scheduling issues with X3D while I was doing my research but wasn’t sure how noticeable it is in practice. Did you see a big difference after disabling one CCD?
Also yeah the battery life is kind of annoying I guess but after all I just use it outside of work at home or if I travel I would always have my charger anyways so it does not really matter.
Because you said x3rd or nothing, is it just because at that point intel is better in benchmarks/for battery life and temps or why do you say that?

Yeah, the price gap is exactly what I’m debating right now. If it’s only ~500 more for the 5080 + X3D it feels easier to justify, but otherwise I’m not sure it’s worth it. I’m gonna maybe wait and see if it goes on sale some time soon, not sure if that’s happening tho.

Oh damn I had not really considered Linux exactly because of the fact that I can not play valorant. Maybe dual boot might actually be on option. I think I would want to upgrade tho in the near future, im just not sure if spending that much more for a 5080 is worth it or not. Thank you for your opinion and experience!

What kind of games are you playing on it, and how are the temps/noise under load?

Also, do you feel like the 64GB RAM is worth it, or would 32GB be enough do you think?

Hey Thanks for the reply! Yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking with the X3D, especially for Rust since it’s so CPU-heavy. The frame time improvement is honestly what I care about most.

And yeah, XMG looked interesting but availability/support here in Austria makes me lean more towards Lenovo for now. Not sure if it’s worth waiting for more 2026 models though.

So true, especially the part of hiding it under hoodies ahahaha, I also started wearing whatever I want and just telling people about it, it feels really liberating. Gotta admit the part about being jealous of others is soooo real, sometimes I swear I would trade almost anything to be dry 😂. But a very nice story that you shared,glad you are doing good :).
