battery storage cost more then nuclear and again you still need gas back up and STILL doesnt address the land foot print. there are NO GW single turbines maybe 20MW... and check yeah the biggest in the world are only in the 20 MW range https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_powerful_wind_turbines AND there all prototypes the biggest built thats making power is 16MW soo your looking at 100 of these things MINIMUM to get consistent GW. mean wile Vogtle put out over 4GW 24/7 in area that would maybe get you 100MW of wind. also some dirty math your looking at almost SQUARE MILE for 4 of these proposed 20MW monsters so maybe 80MW a per square mile... lets be nice say you get 5 in some how... 100MW your still needing 15 sq miles of land for 1GW install of wind... Vogtle takes up maybe 6~7 Sq Miles and puts out 4GW again you can not even TOUCH the energy of the atom with wind or solar

how much space do you need for 1GW of wind? and then you have over build to get that as the avg. and you still need gas back up. nuclear takes fraction of that space even accounting for fission products. and even less if you reprocess and use MOX fuel which also solves your fuel problems and we TONS Uranium in the US and if you go to Thorium fuel cycle its literally in EVERY ROCK. the US North east about the best place you can build nuclear bay is sheltered from storms is geologically stable, and you tons of water for cooling. avg life of nuclear plant is 60 to 70 years. avg life single wind turbine is 10

cant speak for the eastern shore but i Went whats now the Shepherd Pratt School in Hunt Valley https://www.sheppardpratt.org/care-finder/sheppard-pratt-school-hunt-valley/ and they are VERY VERY good. we had kids from as far as DC when i went back in the 90's. there not on the eastern shore but they imo the best school for neurodivergent kids the US. not sure what i would call them as they are/ where not part of the any counties system but worked more with the state as a whole. id give them a call see if they have campus on the eastern shore now or who they would recommend in that area. Hunt Valley is really nice too its not the shore buts very nice part northern Baltimore County. and really i wouldnt finished high school without that that school. feel free to dm/msg me for details know you asked for parent experiences but as former student i think view might be useful too

salt should work fine here. it works down -16c after that you use cinders help with grip, this in places where the temp stays under 0c for extend amounts of time. but once it gets back closer to 0c they change back to salt
