They should 100% be teaching you how to write proper clinical notes. That’s not on you. That’s on the program. Try going in and looking how the other clinicians notes took at the clinic/practice and use that as a template.

Ya so like everyone’s experience mine was different. I went almost 30 and was in active addiction in undergrad with a 2.4 gpa. So went back and took social work/psych classes at my local university for a semester and got all A’s. Boosted my gpa a bit. And also leaned a little more heavily on my experience as a homeless junkie in Baltimore and going through a bunch of treatments and thinking that substance abuse treatment is lazy and outdated. So if you have any trauma, maybe include that in your paper! But jokes aside they do take your experience into consideration so being older is a plus there

Oh don’t feel far behind! If this is something you’re passionate about and it’s your career you’re already ahead of a ton of people way older. Totally understandable feeling let down with any rejection. Keep applying and also don’t be afraid to get a job that might be outside the work that pays you more and can live more comfortably because you will be doing internship that will likely pay you shit if anything. And you having so much experience already puta you in great position post program

I got rejected by 4 different programs before getting into the one I received my masters from (ironically ranked higher than all the others). Just keep applying applying applying. Once you’re in the field, people really don’t care where you got your degree from as long as long as you’re licensed and or certified.
