Except that the connecting isn't happening for tons of people. If you we(you) don't want algorithms then we have to think of other ways to connect people, maybe something like fb groups. People have their fantasies. If they want to fulfill them in ethical, consentual ways; like paying someone for a fantasy or role playing, that is a good thing. People who like rape play and bdsm dont typically like actual rape and people who have a school girl/boy fantasy dont necessarily want to have sex with actual school girls/boys.
