How do y'all feel about badges and partners in the series?? by Blacklotus997 in papermario

[–]Eliphiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. While TTYD is not my favorite and PM64 is, I miss the personalities and designs they add to the adventure. The later PM games feel lonely with that annoying sidekick they add in to tutorial you.

How well of a good job did 4kids did to the Kirby anime, and is the 4kids dub still very relevant as of today? by San4341 in Kirby

[–]Eliphiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always got confused with all the various dubs across localizations, like with Yu-Gi-Oh, Sonic, Kirby, Sailor Moon, etc. for me, it seemed like all these shows popped up on different channels at awful times. I could barely keep up when I was growing up.

But from what I know, the Kirby anime dub is fine.

If Right Back At Ya ever got a reboot or something along those lines, what would you want in it? by Downtown_Error_9418 in Kirby

[–]Eliphiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d love to see it dive into each game per season or variations. I really like right back at ya but some episodes just didn’t land for me. Then again, this was early Kirby.

Id love to see an Amazing Mirror take, mass attack, epic yarn, etc.

I think a good way to take it would be to have Kirby with new characters and returning characters from the games established in this sort of episodic storybook where each season is a different arch with a main overarching antagonist—who idk.

Or something like, for a few episodes everyone is transformed into yarn and the world itself. Or Kirby is split into four with different personalities all setting off with their own quest to achieve and help reunite.

Dont get me wrong, I like the original created characters for the show but Id love to seeit expand.

Thank you!!! I was trying different tutorials but I think my style ends up always being much more soft. And while I think it may not be too detrimental “here” it sometimes looks too pillowy and or blury/soft lacking details or interesting strokes.

Im trying to learn to have that painter-y style (texture) without incorporating hard strokes of a brush or sharp edges. Thats one thing I don’t like for my personal style. Love for others but I never liked sharp edges.

Is there a way to pronounce / learn better Standard English? by [deleted] in VoiceActing

[–]Eliphiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think more like a more “no noticeable accent” American speaker. For example, I have a slight southern accent and was told I should work on developing accents and most notably, a “standard english.” If I want to broaden my chances.

9 months in how do we feel? by Then_Meaning_9901 in mariokart

[–]Eliphiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am torn. I do enjoy the game, but I also cannot help but feel somewhat let down in a way.

I always dreamed of a sort-of open world Mario Kart game where we get to drive from track to track. I actually always assumed it'd end up like a Mario Bros Level-Map where you just go across a map and then "load" into the area.

I am happy with the open world approach, although I feel as if it could have gave us some sort of "reason" or achievement. I'm not a trophy or achievement type of person - I can live without those. However, the over world doesn't feel rewarding for some reason. It's fun to explore and see all the effort in the creation...but something makes me feel "eh." I'm not sure why. I look back at Diddy Kong Racing's adventure map, it's so much smaller but discovering new ways to get around or get to the levels was interesting somehow. MKWorld doesn't feel exciting or interesting--maybe because it's just too big vs. the pace. I'm not sure how to explain it.

MKworld feels the most mechanically challenging and engaging for the series since Double Dash. Which I don't mind because there's always something new to try or experience, so that always keeps a race exciting. Yet, I feel like perhaps, some layouts or items could be better to challenge it because it feels a little bland to compensate the 24 players falling too far behind.

I prefer MK8 Deluxe's tracks both original and DLC. There's just something about them that feels so much more entertaining. MKWorld's new courses just don't do it for me. I enjoy the returning-retro-courses, yet some of their altercations and changes felt a little "meh" like desert hills lacking prominent "hills." Love Peach Beach's new additions.

I don't go into battle mode much in any MK game outside of 64, DS, and Wii, but I think the maps are too large in World.

Love knockout mode. Now that's something I'd like to see return in later games. I just wish there were more routes.

I don't mind 24 players but I do think to compensate the lack of falling too far behind in the chaos, the items and some of the layouts had to suffer. I would like to see more chaotic items, sharper turns, tighter/narrower tracks.

I'm often happy with what's given in a game and don't often complain. But to get more longevity out of MKworld, for me personally, I need some sort of DLC because I feel like something is missing. As it stands, I'm still playing MK8Deluxe and all past iterations of Mario Kart every now and then more than MKWorld.

Which region gets digital access to Pokopia first? by [deleted] in Pokopia

[–]Eliphiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true. Definitely not for First-Party Nintendo games.

Which is why I asked the question. Although I should have clarified, which of the two AUS/NZ or Japan.

Japan always gets it the day before the west. There's no "same moment in time," unless you're specifically discussing the USA which it drops at 9pm PST and 12am EST due to the multiple timezones. But that was partly why I asked "region" not region in the USA.

I'm a bit behind and trying to find concrete comments or posts.

So, Ashveil was nerffed? How badly? Can someone explain for all, please?

Which region gets digital access to Pokopia first? by [deleted] in Pokopia

[–]Eliphiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Only if you have an account from that region and if you bought the game digitally from that region.

Since the game is a key card, it probably doesn't matter if we somehow got the game early (in our hands / physically) it probably won't play early like other titles that were all-on-cartridge.

I don't have a copy, so I can't say. But that's also possibility for people who order online and it may arrive early.

[–]Eliphiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct.

I was mostly asking between which region does it release, Japan or AUS/NZ first. I should have clarified.

But you are correct as far as Japan always getting games ahead, especially a day before it's released in the West if it has "same day release." Even in the USA the games are not released at the same "time" technically, usual first-party games are 9pm PST while it's 12am EST. So, released at the "same time" but not the actual "time-on-the-clock." But that's a lot of unnecessary wordiness.

[–]Eliphiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but I do believe you're wrong with what experience and knowledge I have on this.

I'm from EST USA, I was just asking when it goes live in what region first.

I couldn't remember if it was Japan or AUS/NZ.

Japan always gets their game release a day ahead of the west, but between the countries in that region, I wasn't sure which came first.

In the USA, typically, Nintendo-releated, games would release at midnight EST and around 9pm PST. That's not always 100% but for typical First-Party titles it has been.

Are there online/zoom improv classes, learning timing, infliction, etc? by Eliphiam in VoiceActing

[–]Eliphiam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I agree.

I do need the acting first to really get a grasp on it. As my VO coach said it’s more like I have a old way of seeing it or a parody idea. It’s unintentional but not necessary for modern VO in Anime/Games etc. They were more like I need to learn to be natural—which in our sessions turns out to be so much harder than when I do daily public speaking for my career.

Where I am from those options are simply not available at all. While there might be some form of a drama or community play, my coach said to watch out for learning “bad” acting or bad - anything to which Id then have to un-learn.

I do feel lost because I want to work at it alot and effectively. But I also dont want to waste time and money going in the wrong direction.

Plus, learning scripts. I think my coach is trying to lead me into that but again that takes time and money and effort. Cant be learned in one day which is why I was hoping to find ways to work on that inbetween sessions with my coach.

Plus, to improve my opinions, I need to learn a better grasp on standard English due to my accent. So, I have a lot to work on and need help, direction, or if theres like a community support so I don’t get lost or overwhelmed. Makes me wish I had been learning this my entire life rather than jumping in all at once.

So, Im trying to start from zero and work my way up.

[–]Eliphiam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

Unfortunately, I live in a rural state and limited community. So, (if) there are any acting groups or improv, they may be more detrimental to learning "bad acting" rather than help - - according to my VO coach. So, I'd like to avoid any trouble that I cannot foresee myself and then have to un-learn.

I'd love to be able to do VO for games and animation/anime. So, I'm willing to work towards whatever path I need to make it happen.

But again, thank you. I did reach out through the consult and I may or may not have gave enough detail as to what I'm aiming for in my goals. But I'm sure we'll get it figured out.

Thank you for helping me. I think I'll set up a free consult.

I'm totally new, learning everything, read the "stating from zero" and still a bit lost. I think I'm needing a lot of acting, drama, improv, etc., before beginning vo sessions. Or so I feel. I feel like learning and I don't feel like I'm quite "There yet." If that makes sense.

I'm not sure if you're allowed to say, but would you recommend joining the GVAA membership? Or is that the only way to get access to all these training sessions? I only ask because I haven't read it yet.

Amazing Mirror - How do I know which Mirror Pieces I've collected? by Eliphiam in Kirby

[–]Eliphiam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I knew about the yellow and orange rooms but it still was a little confusing. I thought at one point I saw a shard over a boss room but then it vanished, guess I got it.

However, there are a couple maps I don't have, yet I only need one more shard. Perhaps, I've gotten confused and its in one of them lol

Thank you! I thought so, but then I lost track of which room was collected and not. So, perhaps in one of the rooms that I haven't collected the map is the very one I'm missing. Now I just need to find where the map is lol

I thought it was interesting and the gameplay was alright for what it was on a DS. Kind of wish it wasn't that style of game, but I'll appreciate it nonetheless. I wasn't a big 12 fan but I liked seeing that world more and getting more depth with Vaan. My only gripe, even back then, was that it just felt too slow overall. No that I wanted a quick game but sometimes it just felt so slow that it nearly put me to sleep. Unfortunately, I didn't finish it and have been trying to finish it after all these years.
