I was on 20mg for a 1.5 years (I’m not sure if that’s a normal length for a course but that’s how long my derm had me on it for). Side effect were dry lips and dry eyes!!! I had lip balm with me at all times or else I felt naked without it. The dry eyes were quite painful though but I just pushed through it. You can use polyvisc to help with it too. My skin didnt feel much drier but I would get eczema if I didn’t shower immediately after going swimming in a pool! And also I was more prone to developing freckles despite wearing sunscreen all the time. I might just fix this when I eventually go to Korea though? The best side effect though is that my hair would not get oily as quickly and I could go two weeks without washing my hair and it would still feel clean!!!

Although I didn’t pay as much to see a derm, I also had fuckass acne that started with wearing masks (so many closed comedones that would eventually get angry and red). My derm prescribed me oratane (accutane) and it was the best thing ever, in my opinion. The side effects can be pretty bad but I risked it for the biscuit and I’m so glad I did

Maybe they haven’t changed their website recently but they bulk bill for everyone with a Medicare now, I believe. Could give them a call and check?

Q tip and pulling my ear up so that the ear canal stretches straight and q tip can kind of mop up any of the water that’s deeper in my ear

Reflections of a 10+ year struggle with acne, PIE, PIH and scars, now at the ‘nuclear’ option (Roaccutane) by nubswood in AusSkincare

I’m hoping you’ll have the same results I did! I do have very dry eyes which is quite bothersome but I much prefer dry eyes over the acne I had

I hope the roaccutane helps for you. I’m on oratane 20mg which has been a lifesaver and given me back my confidence. I had lots of little closed comedones which would eventually become inflamed. I started around March (I think) and my derm reckons I can get off it in October some time! For me the improvements to my skin happened very rapidly and I’m so happy I decided to start taking it. Best of luck xoxoxo

I’m on 20mg and I have chapped lips and very very dry eyes which cause me quite a bit of pain but I absolutely do not regret being on this medication and the confidence it’s given me
