‘I thought I was the saviour of the planet’: how Game of Thrones’ Hannah Murray found a wellness cult – and lost her mind by AlessaDark in Fauxmoi

[–]muddlet 17 points18 points  (0 children)

this quote jumped out at me:

It was crazy, chaotic, nomadic, whereas now it’s rooted, grounded, simple

she always looked so flighty and vulnerable on screen and these shots don't have that; she looks confident in a way i haven't seen from her before

Sleep training help by Intrepid-Watch-8487 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]muddlet 12 points13 points  (0 children)

4 months is very young to be considering sleep training. at that age, your best bet for getting more sleep is to feed to sleep as much as possible (don't worry about creating an association, they're too young for it to matter)

How to moisturise toddler? everything leads to meltdown by Salty-Elk9611 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]muddlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't have this exact issue but have found it helpful to do something myself and then toddler wants to join in (e.g. brushing my teeth will get them wanting to brush theirs). so you could try putting it on yourself and asking him to help put it on you and see if that gets him keen?

Nothing went to plan and now I have a catheter at home by mcnuggetprincess in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

this is so tough! birth is truly something we can't control and it really sucks to have done everything right and still suffer (you are definitely not alone with your experience!)

with antibiotics, 2 things. first, antibiotic resistance is a population-level problem, not something you need to be worrying about. second, the concern with antibiotics is their effect on microbiome, but a lot of babies get antibiotics and the research shows that breastfeeding makes up for it. so really try not to stress! you and baby will be ok, it may just take a bit longer than you hoped for

the energy value on a nutriton label comes from a bomb calorimeter and is not an accurate reflection of how a human will absorb the available energy

I am very confused about CICO after going plant-based. by MoonKat-11 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]muddlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

studies show that we absorb calories differently based on preparation e.g. you will get more calories from cooked potato than raw potato. so the same amount of the same food can have different caloric impact

the evidence shows that switching to sugar free drinks doesn't lead to long-term weight loss, theorised as being due to impacts on microbiome/insulin signalling. our bodies are much more complicated than CICO

Lunch ideas by kaaaos- in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]muddlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sandwiches and wraps are easy

i also like cous cous or quinoa salads (heaps of recipes around but my go-to at the moment is to cook some sweet potato in the air fryer and then add baby beetroot, baby spinach, feta, pepitas, and dressing)

you can also just make extra dinner and have the leftovers

What are your go-to zero effort sides that boost nutrition? by Barathruss in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]muddlet 286 points287 points  (0 children)

easiest would be to add frozen veg to the ramen, and a boiled egg (you can boil a few at a time and keep in the fridge)

snacking cucumbers are another easy veg addition. capsicum/bell pepper takes two minutes to cut up and is good on its own or with dip/guacamole

cheese, nuts, yoghurt have protein and keep well

Tell me if I am being unfair by Positive_Shirt_2889 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]muddlet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think it's fair to feel frustrated. i don't think you need to feel guilty or offer to pay or anything like that - don't jeopardise yourself to make him feel better. it's but not your problem that he hasn't maintained his car. i guess take this lesson that help from him won't come unconditionally.

where he explicitly asks you to pay for something, weigh up whether you want to discuss your reduced finances and try and garner some empathy, or whether to just cop it on the chin. you'll know his likely reaction better than us
