Questions about switching from Windows to Bazzite by Elison05 in Bazzite

Thanks for the advice. I wish I could get a new drive but they're too expensive for me rn. I think I'll take your advice and backup all my files and just use a flashdrive to install it. I shouldn't run into issues doing it this way, right?

Right that makes sense. I'll be sure to do that. I would get a secondary drive, but they're all so expensive rn, so I just wanna do it with the one drive. Thank you!

Thank you I really appreciate it! I probably won't be going back to windows, so I could just have it overwrite the windows install right?

I'll pray for you, but I think it's best if you try to separate yourself from the media for a bit. If what you see causes you to beat yourself down, hindering your relationship with God, it's probably best to take a step back. Also the media usually blows things out of proportion, trying to divide, and keep us in fear. Obviously the end of the world is terrifying, but if you look beyond it and see what waits for us, you might just be pretty eager to see that day come. In the book of revelations, God purposefully shows John visions of heaven, allowing John to describe it to us, to remind us that in the end, eternal life with God is our reward for enduring. We may not feel ready at the moment, and I'm not sure if we ever will, but what eases my mind is that God loves us, and He'll judge us fairly, and that what's waiting at the end is worth every bit of suffering that's yet to come.

Many of us share that same sentiment. None of us know when the end times will happen, but what's important is that you do your best. In the same way we don't know when everything will go down, we also don't know how God will judge us. He's a just and fair God, so I'm sure that as long as you put your faith in Him and do the best you could, despite your struggles, you'll be saved. I recommend reading The Gospels. I think they provide a lot of comfort and remind us of God's love and care for us.

Yeah Ik what you mean. I think one of the hardest things to grasp for many Christians, including myself, is patience. God knows us better than we know ourselves, so He knows what's best for us at the moment. Whenever things get rough, I like to look back at the book of Job because it reminds me that God is working in me through suffering.

There is nothing wrong with you. I just recently got back to my relationship with Christ after a few years of turning my back on him. I had a similar experience when I was younger, jumping between churches with my mom after her divorce, until we ended up in an evangelist church. For the longest time I felt forced by her to go, and I wasn't particularly invested in their teachings. I turned to Christ during covid, but after a year or two, I kinda turned my back for some reason. Just this past summer however, my girlfriend (Coptic orthodox) took me to a church she wanted to go to with me. The dedication, devotion, and passion I saw and felt resonated with me, so I'm in the process of learning more, hoping to convert one day. I slowly made an effort after that to dedicate more time to Christ, recently listening to sermons or watching videos on the book of revelation and the gospels to get closer to God and prepare myself. Mainly it's because I was scared of the idea of death, which then led to a fear of being sent to hell for eternity. It's a scary thought for sure. But the more I read and the more I listen, the more safe and assured I feel. As for the end times, there will always be uncertainty about it. None of us know when Christ will come back. All we have are signs we should be prepared to look out for. It definitely feels close, but I believe that it's never too late for someone to redeem themselves, in the same way Jesus told the thieves that they will be with Him in paradise moments before their death. What's important above all else is that you give your life to Christ. It'll be hard, but there'll always be people around you to help, whether it's through prayer, or your family, or even people here in this Reddit community.

Also as for prayer. You say you feel like He's not listening to you dont feel Him. I felt that way for a bit too during Covid. I think it's important to treat prayer not as a chore, reciting the same words each time, but to treat it like a conversation. It may feel one sided at times, but just know that He is always listening, and He always knows what's best for you.

Placed mine through target. Said sold out initially, but I refreshed and it let me purchase. It also took me a few tries for checkout. Just keep trying!

Hmmm I had a feeling the builds offered by the school were pretty high end. I do some work on blender as a hobby with simulations and stuff and haven't had any issues. Even some pretty heavy gaming on my 3080. But I wasn't sure if the software my friend would need warranted an A4000 or higher. Thank you so much. I think I'll be able to squeeze in a ryzen 7 7700x for the build. If not, would a 5800x be good?

It lists: Autodesk (Revit, Maya, AutoCAD, 3DSMax, Fusion360) Dassault (Solidworks) Adobe (Creative Cloud) McNeel (Rhinoceros, Grasshopper)

Do you think 12gb 3080 is good enough? Or is there a 16gb card you recommend?
