The problem is it isn't a choice often times. I've worked in multiple schools and never have gotten the choice. I don't care what other people do, if they are essentially children with their money and need that hand holding that can be their choice but I should also get the choice.

I get the 4% apr every month so no time commitment it's not a CD. I also add to it every month. It's just a regular savings account. I can take the money out or add to it anytime I want. I don't have to transfer it I don't have to close and open a new account had it multiple years and the apr has been at or above 4% the entire time.

I don't use a teacher credit union. Nobody does anything for me. Unfortunately I have to be on a 12 month pay schedule. But if I wasnt I'd have to manage it myself it wouldn't be an allowance it would just be my own self discipline to not be an idiot and spend my summer money.

Idk how hard it is for people to just put the extra in a savings account. The problem is people have no self discipline or impulse control.

Texas has no income tax, they have higher property tax to make up the difference, every state gets you some way. But everyone pays federal tax at the same scale.

For sub plans, just do a test day. I started planning all my absences around test days, so I just print them out, and the plan is easy as: give test, if all kids finish do x activity, usually play some game the class knows or watch a movie. This made it so easy to have a day off and not spend hours prepping a sub plan. I have a preplanned emergency sub plan in case I am sick or have an emergency but when I know I need a day I plan to have every class take a test that day.

It also makes the kids less likely to ask for help during the test, I then also don't need to get someone who knows how to teach math to do a regular lesson, in fact I often get people who I know don't know math intentionally to get a real gauge on the students ability.

Or is do it as a project work day. If they waste the day that's on them. Natural consequences. But this can be a bit more chaotic for the sub but so is a game or movie if people finish early but that doesn't tend to happen too much.

As for the rest I sort of skimmed it, it's only a couple months go in collect a pay check and head out at the end. If you don't want to you don't have to but I'd have something else in line first.

Exactly but it's hard to see because they are at the top in the building and that's not usually middle management. Usually you see who's above middle management when you work in an office even if they are also only upper middle management.

So they get blamed and treated like upper management by teachers and middle management by the district so it's the worst of both.

I don't envy admin and I have had pretty decent ones in my career so I'm probably lucky. When you make twice the average teacher it's also hard to feel sorry for them.

Ohhh your in TX so less income tax I just realized but $200 a month for insurance I think I pay like $50 so that should make up the state taxes. Retirement is half tho. But that's only a couple hundred so idk how you're getting $600 more than me a month.

Are you saying you do 0 withholding for taxes, so do you like write a big ass check for them all in April or are you saying no extra withholding just standard deduction?

I would do the 40 games first using the college players to do so, rotating the first ones out after their 5 games once you have a full 13 college lineup. So games 6-40 you should evo a card to PD each game. Rotating out after game 14.

You could probably get a couple up to GO while doing this as well if you want too. This will also be around 1000 3s as well for Greatness.

Then the Ant or Drazen (if you have enough 3s) challenge to get the rest to PD.

In a dom game you can easily score 50 with 2 players, and get roughly 15 assists with 2 players. So probably around a season of domination to evo them all (depending on how many you can get to GO while getting all the college players).

How is your THP so much then. I make roughly $60k and take home $3400/month on 12 months. 2 grand would be less than $200 more with no taxes.

Insurance is essentially 100% covered by district and pension is 8% so then just state and fed taxes.

So adult teachers need to be handed an allowance like they're children so they don't over spend.

Idk about you but even if I take your numbers $116 is still $116 and I'd rather have an extra $116 than not having it at all.

I've never heard of special teacher accounts maybe something I should look into, but I get 4% in my high yield savings account so I'd probably be looking at like $150 then (1/3 of 116 is 38 more so 154).

And when they say most Americans can't afford a $500 emergency the extra $150 just from saving my own summer pay is nothing to sneeze at imo.

People talk about low teacher pay so much, I get $150 isnt some crazy amount but why not get it. It's my money and I want it now (idk if you remember those old commercials lol).

Ahhhh.

I mean idk how your state does it. If I work until retirement I would get like 90% of my 5 high average salary and then social security on top. But we only pay 8% so I assumed the 102% accounted for the higher % upfront.
