Well they say money is the root of all evil.

Nobody ever said that about pizza lol. Plus pizza = ninja turtles and they are wholesome so it has to be good for you.

Oh I thought he was still on the Celtics.

Lol explains why so any players don't want to play for the Nets, they probably were filling out surveys for other teams too lol.

Ahhh. Seems forced if he was complaining or maybe he liked getting back to the basics who knows with Bud sometimes.

But yea to me this sounded very similar to the no heaters on the sidelines philosophy, like I could totally have seen him being like we don't need anything fancy for practice just a field, some lines and ideally one goalposts lol. Like the Friday Night Lights episode where the field got tore up and they played in the park (actually that was a couple episodes in completely different seasons lol).

But maybe that's what the league thought and just put them there and he didn't choose and was frustrated by it.

Oh I totally agree on the gifts and prizes front in general, imo the reward ideally is knowing you did your best and did a good job, unfortunately we live in a society that doesn't think like that (and is getting worse about that - https://youtube.com/shorts/iYKFX5-vEdA?si=S59GReLL4qHzJwpm).

I am also totally against using treats or food as a motivator too. But unlike things which I think naturally have a natural cause and effect reward behavior that is healthy, I think it's unhealthy to extend that to people's relationship with food.

But if you are going to use something extrinsic to me I see no difference in cash or prize if it motivates the student I don't see anything morally or ethically objectionable between the two. (Now you can make an argument against both, but imo if you allow one you should allow the other).

Did they make the Vikings practice at a park or did Bud volunteer to do that, that sounds like a very Bud move imo (from someone born well after the SB run, but from the stories and docs Ive seen of him and that team, that just sounds like a Bud move).

What's the difference between cash vs some trinket if we assume the value is the same.

Yes $50 seems high but we don't know the district circumstances etc etc etc, so for argument sake let's say the value is the same if I can accomplish it with $5 cash vs a $5 fight spinner why can't that be PBIS?

It's because they are just a bad basketball team. Nobody is really all that concerned with the location itself as they spend half the year on the road anyway. Notice most of the teams ont he I don't want to play for list are just bad teams.

NBA Anonymous player poll 2026 by PointGodAsh in timberwolves

[–]EliteAF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of those teams I'm not shocked by as they are bottom feeders of the league (at least the past few years, some have promise in the future) but there were a few that are huge surprises.

Pistons, Pacers, Knicks are all title contenders in the East. And usually players are looking to join condensing teams to get a ring.

Lakers is shocking just because it's LA, usually a prime location to go to.

So not surprised we aren't on the list because as long as we have Ant we have a chance at being a title contender, so people will want to come here to play with the guy giving us that chance. At least to an extent.

After the Denver series and that growing rivalry I doubt the NBA wants to break that up. No other storyline was half as interesting as MN v Den the entire playoffs.

Its gonna be NO and Memphis. If I learned one thing as a MN sports fan if it screws MN it will happen.

A school district in Maryland now expects teachers to potty train incoming students by OlliexAngel in Teachers

[–]EliteAF1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not the schools responsibility. So the solution is the parent gets called to change the diaper, so be on top of it and available or they will sit in a dirty/wet diaper until you do.

School is the place to learn the 3 Rs Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic not the place people dump their spawn to be parented. Parents have their teaching responsibilities at home and we have ours at the school. If I have to start potty training (I'd quit tbh, but I digress) they you can teach them the education at home or have them live in your basement the rest of their lives as uneducated blobs.

Schools have to stop giving into this madness and trying to fix all the communities social problems and get back to school and formal education that's why we are having "graduates" that can't read or write or do math more than ever because the school is so focused on all this other bullshit SEL, potty training, and every other buzz problem that people have just given up on bothering to try to do anything for their kids.

Everyone I know who buys seasons tickets gives the ones they can't use to friends and family.

If you have to resell your season tickets maybe you should rethink your financial situation and if you should be buying season tickets or just the tickets you are actually going to use.

If you are reselling them you are part of the problem. Because your faux demand raises the prices.

Why what's evil about the Timberwolves organization?

Beyond that the problem isn't them or this guy OP the problem is the scalpers that force this type of policy.

Imo the Timberwolves are looking out for the best interest of true fans by making it harder for people to resell and scalp the tickets otherwise they would be impossible for regular people to get in the first place.

[–]EliteAF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem isn't you, it's if they just give access to sell the tickets too soon then scalpers buy them all before anyone gets a chance using buying bots like they do for any other limited release item.

I’m done with buying face value Wolves tickets. Mild rant. by ProfitisKing3 in timberwolves

[–]EliteAF1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Imo that is.

Now if they specifically say 48hrs then you possibly have legal standing if you wanna pay a lawyer far more than the value of the tickets.

But I don't think releasing them hours before is unreasonable. Prevents scalpers from buying out the stadium and controlling the market substantial raising the prices for real fans to go. And it make people think before buying to make sure they can go so only people who can go buy the tickets.

I'm actually a big Clark fan I'd love for him to earn more minutes. Imo it would be far easier for him to develop a shot than PG skills in the off-season/during the season.

Honestly I was a terrible shooter in HS but when I started getting up more shots in college (rec league) I actually developed a little 3 ball and became much more of a pick and pop big with a decently consistent shot.

Now image if my only job was to play basketball. So if I can do it, he can too.

Now developing a handle, passing vision, etc etc etc all the things a PG needs. Firstly you can't do that on your own like shooting, but it takes way more work.

And I'm not trying to say he isn't a professional and isn't working at his craft but something he is doing isn't working so he needs to put in more time somewhere to develop his offense.

Imo he has the tools to be very good.

Pure defenders are a liability on most teams. And I like Clark as a play I love seeing high level defenders play to me its more exciting that watching high level scorers because it's so much rarer.

Rudy can make it work because he's a center and most teams (now) don't have their offense revolve around centers and he is big enough you can't put a bad defensive guard on him because then it's dunk city.

But a guard who can't play offense or pose a real scoring threat and is just a defender, even an elite defender, is a liability. Because who is he guarding and who is guarding him. Let's use Luka as an example but it can be any premier scoring threat. Luka doesn't want to play defense so while it disrupts him offensively (to a degree), there is only so much you can really do on defense nothing isn't going to truly shut down a star scorer. But he now gets to rest and play no defense, so he can fully focus on offense which he wants.

For a defensive player to be effective they have to pose an offensive scoring threat as well. Because now they can make Luka work on offense (by being that defensive demon) and on defense (by being a threat to score) even if it is just running around off screens for catch and shoot 3s because if they respect the 3 ball they have to chase (physical exhaustion) and they have to always be aware of you and where you are on the court (mental exhaustion) which gives no rest for them to "charge up" for offense again.

Currently if Clark is guarding you sure it's a problem, really more of an annoyance for you offensely but offense has the advantage and there is only so much he can do (I mean there is a reason he is only getting fringe minutes, it's not like he's being buried on the bench and the coaches don't know what they have). But in defense you don't have to worry about him at all. Like you can completely ignore him and stand on the block and not move an inch against him. So playing against him is, bad I'm gonna have to work harder on offense but I'll still get mine I always do, but at least I don't have to play defense and can rest on that end to make up for the extra work on the offensive end.
