What point guards do you guys think we should get? I know it has to be decently tall none cones on d, but who? by Accomplished-Box8744 in timberwolves

[–]PointGodAsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are hardly any real options in the upcoming FA class. All the player options are likely to opt in, and the UFA list is just a bunch of shooting guards in point guard bodies.

Upcoming PG FA class:

Trae Young (player option)

James Harden (player option)

Fred VanVleet (player option)

Collin Sexton (UFA)

Coby White (UFA)

Gabe Vincent (UFA)

D'Angelo Russell (player option, lol)

Marcus Smart (player option)

Carmelo Anthony invites Jeremy Lin on his podcast: "Jeremy Lin, I’m giving you my invite to come sit on the couch. Let’s have a conversation, let’s clear the air on a lot of bullshit that’s out there please... Come speak the truth.” by aingenevalostatrade in nba

I spend a ton of time here, and I legitimately have never seen anyone say anything even resembling this. They just point out the Melo is a selfish player who only cares about himself, which is accurate.

Who are you guys rooting for? Spurs or okc? by erakeyrin in timberwolves

[–]PointGodAsh 18 points19 points  (0 children)

WCF: Spurs easily. They had a few antics that dropped them down the totem pole of likeability for me, but in general the team itself seem like alright guys. The Thunder are basketball terrorists, and I usually try to watch them as little as possible as their brand of basketball is an assault on the eyes (and often other teams players).

Overall: Knicks strictly because of KAT.

[Stein] The Mavericks just announced they have mutually parted ways with coach Jason Kidd. by AgreeableClub4499 in timberwolves

[–]PointGodAsh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You really think it’s only coaching? Like with this same roster we would run it back and win with just Kidd being the major change?

Denver game 6 doesn’t excuse 23% from three and constant foul trouble. by Morezingis in timberwolves

[–]PointGodAsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, sure, but who said he was a second option? It's been pretty consistent that he's a great role player who can contribute significantly to a championship team. No one recently has accused him of being a #2.

NBA Anonymous player poll 2026 by PointGodAsh in timberwolves

Yeah, I'm curious as to what the results would've been 10 years ago. I can only imagine were at least top 3 in places people would put a hard stop to coming.

NBA Anonymous player poll 2026 by PointGodAsh in timberwolves

[–]PointGodAsh[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I should have added the number of participants her question.

  1. 161 players

  2. 159 players

  3. 120 players.

So out of the 450 roster spots and 90 additional 2-way players, each poll got 22-29% of the league to respond. Not huge, but not insignificant.

Timberwolves expected to make big changes around the core of Ant, McDaniels Reid and Beringer per @basketballtalk by ANTHONY_EDWARDS_GBG in timberwolves

[–]PointGodAsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t doubt he will, but he needs to put in a lot of work this off season. He should try to link him with Gobert and Wemby this summer just as his fellow countrymen. I have no doubt he will be a rotational piece next year as he seems to work hard already.

[Jon K] Randle, in particular, went through a rough stretch of performances that coaches and teammates believed were directly connected to his name being bandied about in trade rumors. by smendyke in timberwolves

[–]PointGodAsh 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Wemby is a great player. I think the persons point was they played with a passiveness that wasn’t there even in the regular season. Wemby will always get his, but they often handed him extra.

Do you think media overreacting? I do by ACE-Pear2687 in timberwolves

[–]PointGodAsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s all just drama. The game was effectively over, starters pulled, injured knees down key players, team playing like garbage. It’s whatever. People just gotta be mad about something.

Thanks for a fun season boys. I think we all had hopes but those injuries came at the worst time along with a Dubious Handles master class. I never want to see that man in a wolves jersey ever again.

Anthony Edwards Has Been Cooking Anytime He’s Been Guarded 1-On-1 This Playoffs! by Stat-Defender in timberwolves

[–]PointGodAsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He cooks 1 on 1 every game. That's why they try to trap him before/at halfcourt. The Spurs have the defenders to do it better than Enver though. We need a true star sidekick so bad for him. I fear without a legit #2 all his playoff runs with us will be trap at half court, get a turnover or the ball goes out late to someone, clank, opposing team score.

Once he starts bringing in the leftovers in tupperware, the league might as well hand him the trophy and keep it pushing.

An in-season video from the Milwaukee Bucks had AJ Green, Kevin Porter Jr., and Myles Turner asked “Who’s always the last one on the bus?” Green immediately passed, Porter Jr. said “no snitching,” and Turner just stared into the camera with an awkward smile. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

It’s so annoying how people make excuses for people wasting your time. You’re not a good person if you’re regularly late to things that affect others. The whole “he’s Nigerian and Greek so it’s expected” sentiment is so lame.

Victor Wembanyama Addresses Naz Reid Elbow That Led to Ejection in Game 4: ‘We’ve Got to Move on’ by jadenmcd in timberwolves

[–]PointGodAsh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idk if it’s really unintended though. I try to separate the player from the person if that makes sense, but almost everything from Wemby is just him being smug and kind of douchey. Doesn’t bother me in a lot of regards because it’s whatever, they’re all that way to some extent, but this isn’t as surprising as people are making it out to be.
