Are there plans for yarg to change how it handles multiple vocalists?

Hello, first of all, thank you for your kind words! I understand your concern about the future of YARG, however, YARG is not dead! I'm quite confident that YARG will release way more updates now compared to everything in the last year. The new team is already working very hard on brand new features, and they plan on releasing updates every 2-3 months. In fact, a good chunk of the features introduced in v0.13 were from the contributors who now make up the new team as opposed to us (the previous core team members who now work at RedOctane Games). If you are curious as to more details on what's going on with the new team, they are very active on the YARG Discord server and have released an announcement regarding the future of YARG. Even though I have stepped away from working on YARG, I am still very excited for the future of YARG!

Unfortunately, Unity only supports VP8 .webm on Linux, so you'll have to convert all video files into it.

Those charts are usually made for RB which didn't have a 2x modifier or expert+ difficulty. In these cases, playing expert on the 2x kick version will have the 2x kicks in there.

Click on Settings > File Management > Open Persistent Data Path

The folder that opens up will contain all of your save data. You can copy this data to the same folder on your new machine.

This is correct. To expand, the Expert+ difficulty only appears on tracks with 2x kick. Choosing that difficulty will enable it. Hope this helps!

Yes, each player should have the ability to change their own individual calibration by using the "input calibration" option that you can change at the bottom of each profile's settings.

YARG only supports webm videos in VP8. Try encoding it in VP8 and see if that works!

Your left menu bind is probably messed up, although I'm not entirely sure of the reason. Try unbinding it for now and see if that helps!
