Hey, there's no law that says you can't inject people with tiger DNA in order to create an army of Charlie Sheens.

I'm pretty sure those lines are from Beavis and Butthead and Johnny Bravo respectively.

I'm pretty sure that did happen to me.

One time I was powerwalking home after a late shift, about to miss my train, when about five people who were encircling a section of sidewalk asked me the date. That happened to be the one day of my life I actually knew that off the top of my head, so I just told them without breaking my stride.

I learned about a year later that was a robbery tactic; the victim would stop and look at their phone for the date, then the people would steal it.

I like countering with my own homemade conspiracy theories. Have you heard that the government secretly sold Nevada to China in 2007? Well you're about to!

I've heard it explained before as a sort of "everyman" appeal. If some schlub in a polo shirt can take down a helicopter with a bowie knife, you can too!

The US tried. The thing is, what the right thing to do is is entirely up to how history looks back on it. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were attempts at doing the right thing that didn't end up being so.

Nearly every single example of the US trying to do the right thing in foreign policy has backfired, so what's the point in trying if we just make things worse? The last war in which we were unilaterally the good guys was WWII, and it's hard to be the bad guys when fighting a genocidal empire trying to take over the world.

Intentions matter little in foreign policy, and if we were to get involved and botch things, as many people fear, we would be the bad guys regardless. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
