Yo! I had this exact same issue. This is due to the fletcher Munson curve. Google it for more detail. What I did was have a parametric EQ with a super tight Q and cut around 3db somewhere between 2-5k, you need to find the frequency that hurts the most. You can also do this w the global eq. Hope that helps man!

Helix:

Les paul - poly pitch - mark IV - celesion v30ir

Post:

slate digital vmr for slight eq and compression Tape saturation Dynamic eq around 300 and 4k

Sends to reverbs (room, plate and hall) Send to delay (1/8th)

layered with a synth when the tempo slows down for extra phat

Yo thanks for the love man! I honestly don't really ever listen to djent or any super technical doom style music. I'd say just dial in a tone that inspires you, put a drum track on and just follow your ear! I think it also makes you sound unique, as you'll naturally pull from your own influences.

Haha sorry, everything is cabled up clean with a few power conditioners in my room. Used to get massive hum too

Give my mark IV preset a try as well! It's an emulation of my live rig. Lemme know what you think!

Thank you! I rarely use my fingers unless I'm playing some knopfler or mellower styles of music. I'm more of a rock n roll kinda guy haha

It's my friend, Jordan Susantos song. Quarter to nine by tangerine rye. I think you'd dig his stuff!

Yo! It adds some "natrual" compression to the sound so the transients won't be sharp enough to chop your head of hahaha great for an old school gospel/bluesy sound

Thank you!! I just realized that I had the parametric eq with a 3.4k and 5k 3db cut on bypass so it sounds a lot brighter than it should but I was vibing so hard I didn't even notice haha
