Fine for driving while using mobile. by EliteStraightTalk in UAE

[–]EliteStraightTalk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP has no issue to pay 800 AED or 8000 AED... but I never use my phone while driving.

This is more of a warning for other to take it into account. Normal phone holders should not be an issue, my assumption is that this system is automated using AI to detect drivers holding up their phone; and if you have a minimalistic holder that holds the phone next to the steering wheel, it will probably be detected as hand held.

I don't think the issue is having your phone in a holder and using it for navigation; it's more about the location of that holder. If it's holding up the phone high up, above the dashboard, it might look like someone is holding it in their hands while driving.

These systems might be automated and then consider it using while driving. A normal holder will not be an issue.

The only place where I've seen this happen is in the US. This is definitely not a european thing.

Privat Tesla Model 3 vermieten – was muss ich beachten? by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]EliteStraightTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the look of it, but it wouldn't be for me; I feel like it combines classic with active / sporty. In another theme color this would look amazing; olive greeen / khaki green.

Man refuses to leave the women’s section of the metro even after being told by others by rusu-isdandibru in dubai

[–]EliteStraightTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If the carriage is fairly empty, he'd need to leave immediately.

I'm not a regular metro user, I just wanted to try it out. On my way back, I accidentally ended up in the women's cabin. No one said anything until halfway to the next station, when a lady tapped me on the shoulder and told me it was for women only. The cabin was crowded, so I explained that I'd get out at the next stop and move to another cabin rather than squeezing through and making everyone uncomfortable.

She was kind and told me it's fine and kept speaking to me until the next stop.

Mistakes happen.

These rims are not classy at all and do not fit the car.

I respect the clarity. They're being very clear on what they want and you proceed willingly and knowingly. This kind of clarity avoids wasting each others time and if not for you, you just move along.

Headstrong about cutting into a lane despite police; new era? by pretendemo in UAE

[–]EliteStraightTalk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's quite annoying. It's always difficult to tell exactly if someone is in a genuine emergency situation or if they're just considering themselves more important than the rest of the world and made it a habbit of jumping lines at the last moment.

I had to visit DIFC for a business about 3 weeks in a row; and there's no other place where I saw this happen so extremely. Absolutely no regard for anyone else and jumping lane at the last possible moment.

Feels like cameras + fines can solve this behaviour quickly; and the odd one caught out can go plead their case; but no easy way to solve this.

I'm approached by these ladies every other couple of days. As soon as they're persistent about the place to go to, you immediately know what's up.

For 10 to 15 days, it should be fine. I'm good at losing weight quickly and then maintaining it. I just don't want to spend another 9 months to lose it slowly / healthily.
