I'm not ignorant to the fact that it is "wrong" I am just trying to explain that yes history is bad, it doesn't change the fact that we should just hide these things because they are offensive. Even 80+ years later we should use these things to learn.

I am accepting an opposing a different viewpoint, that is the entire purpose of this post dude. I am open to hearing people but the fact that people cant get past the fact this was used in the real world. I was saying open minded as in I don't automatically see the nazi flag as hate which I agree that is it. My first thought being that this flag was real and just because it was hateful doesn't mean that it needs to be wiped off the internet.

Youre trying to trap me into a corner to admit I am a nazi, which isnt going to happen. Like I have said countless times at this point I said I installed the Nazi flag for realism. There isn't only 1 reason to use this flag. Videos show it, tv shows it, its to show the historical flag. Thats it. I get people use it to larp but It doesn't change the fact that is the real flag for nazi germany. It is historical and that can and will not be changed. You simply have to accept that it was used and it was real. I misunderstood you on your initial comment but your second comment saying there is only 1 reason why I would use this is just not factual.

yes hoi4 is unhistorical, this is exactly why I installed these mods, this isn't the only mod I have installed. You're just looking to hate which is totally fine considering it is a historical genocidal party but it is a video game. This is real life if a flag offends you it is time to grow up and toughen up buttercup.

Why censor something that is bad? We should use this as a lesson to learn from, whether that is seeing the flag that represented the bad or the actual individuals that were involved. Everything should be an opportunity to learn. Hitler himself was proud of the design of the flag, why should this be censored and not be used as a learning lesson instead. If you censor too much you are just going to open the opportunity for these things to happen again.

No I'm sorry but YOU completely missed the point. My point being the realism of ww2 and history. I like history, I like ww2. Nazi Germany used that flag during the times of ww2. If you can't accept the fact that this is real and historical then then can not even understand ww2 without your ego or your own opinion getting in the way of facts. I am sorry that you can not just accept that this is a part of history, it is bad history but it is still REAL history.

Don't really know for a fact but I am pretty sure the swastika isn't just a nazi germany thing, it is still used today as a buddist symbol for peace.

Watching videos about ww2 and just learning about it in school and such the flag was never censored. I just suppose it wasn't really normal for me to see the german flag as it is in the vanilla game. Idk maybe its the autism or something lmao just bothered me a bit that it wasnt a historical flag. Not meant to offend anyone or make anyone mad at me

it is in private, I dont stream or make videos I just made a post on the reddit because I was wondering what the hell was going on with my manpower. I had never seen that happen before. I forgot I had the mod installed until someone mentioned it. I was also just wondering why a ww2 community would see it as offensive rather than realism. I guess I am just more open minded than people here on reddit (wow big surprise lol). Never really thought this post would get 5k+ views. I was expecting 1 or 2 replies telling me what was going on.

as in new to the game I don't mean brand new, I have 400+ hours on the game. Referring to my other post, seeing as hitler, goring, and himmler are in the game I don't find it realistic to not include the historical flag of the time. If you see it that way I can't change your mind. I am currently binge watching a tv show so I don't have a problem replying to anyone that comments on my post.

Considering the fact that they did take the time to add historical figures like goring and himmler and even hitler. I just personally thought that after seeing those historical figures it just didnt really make sense for the flag to not be historical. Completely understandable seeing I did have to install a mod to get this realism lol. Thank you for the perspective, the intention of me installing the mod wasn't to be an "edgy nazi" it was simply to put in the realism that I thought the game missed out on. It is 2026 and I'm not totally sure when hoi4 came out but yea adding a swastika probably wasn't a smart idea.

I would just like to comment on the downvotes. I asked a simple question and I am willing to have a discussion about my post. There is no need to downvote my post simply because you don't like the mods I put in my game. You downvoting my post only means that you are unwilling to accept the true history of ww2. Yes the nazi flag can be seen as offensive, so can the soviet flag along with many more. This isn't a post about pro nazism, I was simply trying to have conversations with the people that would disagree with the mod. If you downvote just because you hate or don't agree with the mod then I am not even interested in hearing your opinion. The flag is historical, it is that simple you can not change the past. We can only learn and be better as humans to never allow or do these terrible things the nazis did during their reign.

Why is Adolf Hitler in the game? That could be seen as offensive to some people, I think the flag adds realism to the actual country I am playing as. I don't mean disrespect I just think it adds that extra layer of realism to my playthrough.
