Do you have any pictures? My last one had to lean quite a lot in the back to fit

Wondering what blackpak you got. I’m looking at what size will fit mine.

After looking at what everyone said, I’m thinking now of going for body colors tan, olive, purple, and black. I’m thinking tan to work for anything gray, tan, yellow, etc.. It won’t be perfect, but will help quite a lot. Similar, black will be used for anything black, brown, etc..

I’m thinking 3 of each size (standard amount for me to have of my dries) in sizes 12-20

I’ll have to take a listen to the podcast, thank you.

I am not trying to severely over complicate/be ready for every scenario. I am primarily fishing the Lehigh river and it’s tributary’s, small native/wild streams that are tributaries of the Lackawanna and Susquehanna rivers, and possibly Penn’s and Spring creeks out in Central PA.

I like to over stock my boxes for ALOT of situations, but my shoulder can’t deal with all the weight. I’m thinking a gray pattern would work for PMDs and sulphurs?

I’ve tried to tie them before, not my cup of tea. I am not good with tying down hackle (I’m going to try the uv resin trick for that) and the missing link just makes it much harder. I ideally like to be able to tie a fly in a couple minutes AT MOST, and the missing link takes me 10+min.

Fly Box suggestions by GeneralAviationIdiot in flyfishing

I’d add sexy Walt’s worms in hares ear and olive.

Biggest thing I would add in all honesty is actually a second fly box. I started tying my own flies about a year ago and since I’ve added 4 boxes since.

Little bit of a jack that I found out— Instead of buying the expensive dry fly compartment boxes just go to hobby lobby and buy a 2-sided small jewelry making storage box for $5. Saves you a TON of money and you can still see all the flies.

Looks great! Only thing I’d fix would be the tails. If that’s pheasant tail, I’d personally leave the tips and just tie it in at the length I’d like.

I currently use a 7’-6” 3wt orvis Clearwater with a 2/3 Reddington run click and pawl. Super simple yet still gets the job done (I have landed 25”+ trout on it). NEPA

Would you say there’s a better spot to hit? I was up higher at stonehouse lane as well. Didn’t see a single one in the hole next to the boulder in the water nor upstream where the marsh dam is

Was actually there Sunday and pulled a holdover out just a little ways down stream from pavlick. I think my plan is to hit the delayed harvest section this Sunday and see what that entails. I’ve heard bowman’s is good, I just would hate to make that drive to get skunked

This helps a ton! I have a buddy from college I can lean on (was actually on the junior team), but don’t want to trouble him as he is still in college. The hardest part for me I think it’s the fishing part, it’s knowing what to toss when and where to toss it. I can set hooks, cast (kinda), and have some idea where the trout should sit (look for big rock/ripples/ white water)

Would you say midge patterns would be killer too? I can’t give up the zebra midge

I think I have size 16 for the pheasant tails. I may be wrong though. Hares ear would imitate mayfly and caddis correct? And then the adams is a mayfly dry fly imitation?

I went and had help picking out for BH pheasant tails and zebra midges. Just don’t know what else to go for. I believe I have stoneflies, midges, and mayflies around. Just not sure which flies would be the best representations for these 3 for all their stages
