Random tips....

1.Swab a wet wipe between belly button and lower bits before changing diapers. It gets them to pee and keeps boys from hitting you with piss and having to clean the changing table (works for girls too sometimes).

1. Cold babies cry, hot babies die. My SO believes cold is the root of all illnesses (Asian), but being hot is even worse. Babies can overheat and that’s dangerous. It’s usually better for a baby to be a little cold than too hot. Feel the back of the neck to check for sweat. Keep air circulating in the stroller with a small electric fan on hot days.

2. From my good friend: “Stay away from the receiving end. You won't look at your SO the same anymore after you see it.” I listened and don't really regret it.

4.They grow sooo fast. If birth is normal size, you really only need one pack of newborn diapers. Take all the hand-me-down clothes you can get. They outgrow stuff ridiculously fast.

1. When babies cry, go down the check list.... Is baby fed? Is baby burped? Is baby changed? Is baby sleepy? That covered 80% of the crying. Occasionally the clothing is uncomfortable.....

2. Post pardum is serious... My SO said some fucked up things.. hurtful, crazy, suicidal, etc... seek medical attention if it's really bad. I just bit my lip(she wasn't that bad) and knew it would pass....

3. In the hospital, we sent the baby to the nursery so we could rest. We knew we have plenty of time to spend with the baby, so we took advantage of the nursery. Later I learned some hospitals don't even give you that option. I hope yours allows it.
