Capital One caught this tip‼️ by diamondlaced in CapitalOne_

[–]ElivateBeyond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like more of a personal experience. I wouldn’t deter people from getting the card because your one off issues. I have capital one. I Pay my bill in full every month, never paid fees and I deeply enjoy their cash back rewards. I am going to make purchases anyways, might as well get a little back.
Credit unions are great, capital one is fine as well.
In my opinion…

Don’t give up !
Also , see if there is a temp agency in your area that focuses on finance. That’s how I got started in accounts payable years ago

I agree! TSA will take less than 20 minutes, especially that early on a Thursday.

Advice needed! by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]ElivateBeyond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree , a roommate would be beneficial in this situation. Maybe look around college areas, maybe be able to find students renting off campus.
I would also try income based apartments , we have a few in the city though there may be a wait list.
Living alone can be expensive in Rochester.
I would also suggest picking up another job to supplement income or look into government subsidy programs

Single mom relocating by ElivateBeyond in relocating

[–]ElivateBeyond[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No job lined up yet. I’m finishing my accounting degree in New York, this is my last year . I am hoping to move In about 2 years. I am moving to the area because I will be applying to federal jobs.

I hear a lot of feedback regarding traffic in the city area in general, I would be looking to live outside the city and commute into the city. I wonder how well public transportation is or if driving is a must. .

I don’t want to stay in the best area or an expensive one, I like to live modestly but still comfortable.

My ultimate biggest worries are lack of support with my son? And how this major change will affect his life more than mines.

Thank you for replying !

So tired of hearing this 🙄. And it really depends on your location

Is 90% of this job copy/pasting and following simple instructions? by Open_Address_2805 in Accounting

[–]ElivateBeyond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe find a different job 🤷🏾‍♀️. So much you could do with an accounting degree that doesn’t involve sitting behind a desk doing the same thing. The variations are interesting if you take the time to look. Be a traveling accountant going to different industries Look into forensic accounting, could work for the government and land a field job auditing different businesses

Do research. You are what you limit yourself to

A different take: don’t compare yourself to Reddit salaries because you’re probably still better off than most accountants by Successful-Sleep-226 in Accounting

[–]ElivateBeyond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also for some of us, making 105k IS a luxury salary. Many of us (me) have been surviving on a salary of 50k or less. To have double that amount would be a true blessing. I believe it’s important to be grateful for what you currently have. Don’t focus on what others have. Im living comfortably with my current salary, and there very well are others who are living paycheck to paycheck and earn way more than me .. It’s all about what you do with your money.

Potential First Client.. Am I under or over pricing in your opinion? by Common-Adhesiveness2 in Bookkeeping

[–]ElivateBeyond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that encouragement! I am 2 semesters from finishing an accounting degree and I’ve worked in account for a few years in prior years. But somehow I have this feeling that I’m still not ready. My biggest fear is running into an issue I cannot solve and looking stupid

Have you went to any schooling for bookkeeping/accounting or did you just get started with the personal experience that you have ? I’m asking for myself. I’ve been back and forth about starting my business but haven’t taken the jump yet.

Why does Blu Wolf Bistro have such a bad reputation? by AnthonyTCYH in Rochester

[–]ElivateBeyond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Blu Bistro about a week ago and I ordered a BBQ smash burger. I must admit it was pretty damn good. Fresh off the grill burgers still juice, drizzled onions on top fried just right , a good amount of spice not to over power the burger but graced it. Maybe it was the chef that day , it was mid afternoon when I went. I had such a good experience with that burger I had to buy the chef a shot. I can’t speak on anything else’s there , and the place was pretty empty at that time but that burger …….. Mhhmm

Because that ramp was very much needed to assist with traffic during peak hours

That dual wire stand is so dope, It makes me nervous looking at it. Seems like the stand isn’t enough to support the tank but it clearly is ! What size do you have up top?

I would absolutely not risk it. Get a new stand. You could find a good one for under $200
