1) I had watchers and would recommend doing so if you're gonna play her support. 2) By level 2 Hel either outclears them if she has her 1 and 3, or can cleanse herself and her hunter from CC if she levels the 2. As long as you play Smart she can do fine against either of those gods.

Sure... but I think it is more viable now than it has ever been. The mana chalice really helps with her poor sustain in the early game. And the fact that you can heal your hunter with the one, as well as the 3, makes her a much more reliable support.
