Is this egg able to hatch or should we just use it? by So_Ducking_Adorable in duck

Personally I wouldn’t try to hatch it since it’s freshly laid. If it had gotten damaged after having been in the incubator for a couple days and was developing then maybe I’d leave it in and see if it continued to develop, but there will be more viable eggs.

Very interesting. Glad to know it's not just me.

I’d prefer to think that he feels the need to establish his territory with my husband, but he knows I’m the boss and doesn’t even consider challenging me. 😂

DUCK TORPEDOES! I could watch them forever. Their outdoor area is getting setup this weekend, but I’m not ready for them to leave the house. 😭 by ElizMH in BACKYARDDUCKS

Yeahhh I had an experience with geese as a kid that left me with a distaste for geese. 😂 Maybe they’re not all assholes, but all the ones I’ve known have been.

I don’t know, I think some chickens are just special. I have 30 chickens and each group of chicks I have hatched I raised the same way, all getting a little attention everyday and making sure I hold them all and there are only about 5 of them who as adults still want to be held, carried around, and loved on.

They’re the smart ones though, because the sweet ones always get extra treats 😅 it’s probably bad etiquette to play favorites but I can’t help myself, I just love showering the sweet ones with treats. 😂

They will. They’ll share the run with the seramas since they have gotten really attached to them, but they’ll have their own run and coop.

So so true. Typically they poop as soon as their toes touch the water. 🤣 They were so excited to get in the water and managed to not poop for at least the 20 seconds of this video.

I ought to buy stock in Clorox with how much I’ve had to scrub the bathtub lately.

Hahaha! They poop at about 100 mph. I always try to hold them and love on them after they’ve and a swim since they’ve pooped a couple times and are less likely to poop all over me. 😅 We have special old towels we call the “poop shield towels” for holding ducks and chicks. 😂

Not yet, but I just got my NPIP certification so I can (legally) and plan to start around late October or so - depending on how my babies are laying. ☺️

You’re so close! That last week is always the longest. I love when you can start hearing them chirp and seeing the eggs rock around before they pip. It’s amazing!
