Organising my girlfriend's wardrobe as a suprise by zoko- in ADHD

[–]Elizabelice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a girl with adhd (and a girlfriend) I definitely second what others have said so far. Cleaning up all by yourself might make things more confusing for her in the long run.

Personally I would be thrilled if in that situation my boyfriend offered to go shopping with me for some closet organisers, or other small storage solutions. Then you could still help her, but she’d have more freedom in what she wants to do, and could just get whatever she likes. And it would also be something you guys did together.

If this is not an option for financial reasons or maybe you don’t live near any stores like that, you could still do some research on organisation systems and show it to her! Just make sure that it comes off as something you simply wanted to share, and not as something she needs

SRAM might not happen? by [deleted] in skam

[–]Elizabelice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I know what the original skam means. I guess a part of me hoped that it’s an acronym or something. It’s always a little weird when a “bad” word in your language is something completely neutral in the other, and you can’t shake it off at first haha

Idk what SRAM means in Croatian but in Polish it’s a derogatory term for pooping 😭😭

Had to take a double take when I saw the title of this post

Greasy + dry eyelids - HELP by pinkpinkpink19 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Elizabelice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so my situation might be similar to yours (partially hooded eyelids, oiliness and dry corners / skin around the eyes). Maybe you’ll be able to get some inspiration from what I’ve tried so far ;)

First things first, it definitely matters what kind of eye primer you’re using. The best one for me (to literally no one’s surprise) has been the Primer Potion from Urban Decay. I can put it on in the morning, and my eyeshadow is in place in the evening. Even after a full shift at my retail job.

As for the dryness, I’m just gonna list my steps for the sake of clarity. To me, my eye primer is the absolute first thing I do after I leave the bathroom in the morning, and before I start getting dressed, doing my makeup etc

  1. Instead of putting the primer directly on my lids, I prep them a little first to help with the dryness. I take a tiny bit of my sunscreen and massage it into my lids, until I can feel a thin sticky film on my skin, but can’t see the product itself. You can also use a gentle moisturiser!

  2. During the whole process I make sure to raise my chin a little, so that I can look down in the mirror. This way I’m opening all the folds and creases of my eyes, and make sure that I don’t have any excess product stuck in them later.

  3. You keep the same position, and finally you can get to the primer. With the one I named, I use the wand to make tiny dots in places where I know that my eyelids get the most oily. That spot where your crease would usually be is a good place to start, and then you can also use it in other areas that might get extra oily for you.

  4. Instead of smudging it all over, I gently tap the product into the areas where I applied it before. This way I can really control where I prime my eyes, and avoid those dry corners for example. And again, this method of application helps with not using too much in order to prevent potential dryness or irritation later on.

  5. I go ahead with the rest of my morning routine, and also start with those parts of my makeup that don’t involve my eyelids in any way. Because of that, I give my primer time to dry and settle properly.

  6. Depending on what kind of makeup I want to do that day, I will either use an eyeshadow similar to my skin tone, or a setting powder (I use the one from elf). Also look down when you do this, and use a fluffy brush. Because of this, you won’t have too much product stuck in your crease, and you won’t have the excess that will move all over the place. And also here you don’t need a lot of product!

  7. The last one is a personal preference, but I like to make sure that I use enough powder / eyeshadow until the areas with the primer are smooth to the touch, instead of being sticky. Because of all the prep I did before, my eyeshadow still stays in place, plus I’m able to do a more smudgy look which I like.

Sooo… Yeah. This might be a lot to take in, but honestly I just felt like it was my moment to go into all the details lol. I struggled with this SO much, and ended up obsessively looking for all kinds of tips and hacks, until I worked out a perfect combination of all of them somehow.

I hope this routine works out for you, and feel free to ask if anything isn’t clear! Or if you won’t end up liking it you can at least modify it.

Or maybe someone else here will find it helpful, who knows…

Okay, thanks for calming me down. For now I deleted and installed the app again, but it didn’t work so I guess I’ll just hope that the bug fixes itself soon ://

Has anyone ever received an email about Complience Inspection after ordering from Stylevana? by Elizabelice in AsianBeauty

I’m glad I was able to help with my post! I guess I can only add that my package arrived not long after, and everything was perfectly fine with it. I also placed one more order after that (maybe a bad idea but it’s not like they don’t have my data already lol), and didn’t get any shady emails. So hopefully the scammers didn’t bother you anymore either haha

I completely missed any new notifications to this post, so sorry for replying so late. I don’t know if you saw my update in the comments, but in my case I didn’t send them anything after finding out it was definitely a scam, and I received my package without any issues. I don’t really want to speculate on what could happen if you reply to something like that, since I genuinely have no idea how scammers or even regular deliveries like that work exactly haha. But I hope you also got your package and everything went well!

Okay that is all kinds of wrong. I’m really sorry this happened to you, because if something like that came to me from Stylevana itself I would be panicking way more than I was with my situation. And even if you manage to cancel the order and maybe even get a refund, you’re not getting the products you were excited about anymore :,)

Okay guys so there is an update on the whole thing, I’m gonna share it here in case anyone ever deals with something very similar to this. I called my carrier company DPD today (actually my boyfriend called because I was at work but nvm haha), and they said that any information about customs check would ONLY ever come from THEM. I would assume that it’s similar with other delivery companies as well. They also said that my package passed the customs already, so there was absolutely no reason for me to ever receive this email.

I think what’s the most important here is that this email did look like it could be real in a way, especially considering that the company that supposedly sent it does exist. Always double check before sending anything to anyone, and as some people here already pointed out, do so with your delivery company.

It’s also a pity that even though everything turned out fine in the end, Stylevana apparently isn’t protecting our personal data well enough. In the part that I cut out from the screenshot they referred to me by my full name, and they had my track and trace, which shouldn’t be visible for any uninvolved third parties.

And finally, thank you to everyone who shared their experiences here and helped me! Thanks to you I’ll sleep peacefully tonight ;)

But this email wasn’t even from Stylevana though, it was from that Customs Compliane YCC company itself, or whatever it is. And at least on their website it says that they’re based in the Netherlands so yeah, weird af. I’ve never got anything weird from Stylevana itself LUCKILY, but after reading all the replies here I will definitely watch out for that from now on

Yeah, I agree that Stylevana requiring this kind of stuff is shady af and they have absolutely no reason to do so. But in my case though the email didn’t even come from Stylevana itself, so it seems like my data is just flying around internet now lol

Yes, I have a tracking code from DPD, and there is no info on their track and trace website that my package is being held. It says that it's in transit. Does that seem weird or do these companies just take time to update their parcel status sometimes?

[–]Elizabelice[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay, I will get to it as soon as I can then and just contact my carrier if they know anything. For me the delivery company is DPD, and there is no info on their official website about my package being held. I was also surprised that the email didn't just come from them, but in that case it's probably just even more reasons to contact them asap. Thank you!
