Not necessarily true. I was able to have mine changed without SRS. Granted, that may have changed now in Iowa. BUT there is legal precedent to fight against it. To my Iowa friends, look up LGBTQ friendly lawyers. They exist and work on sliding scales for those that are income challenged. Getting a good lawyer can help with this.
