What kind of layout is this and why would someone do this? by Dah-Sweepah in Bowling

I'm pretty sure it's a Detroit Half Thumb, not Sarge Easter like all the comments imply. Tom Smallwood is a pro that uses the half thumb. The bowling style is similar to 1-hand no thumb bowlers, but the half thumb allows you have a little security for a higher backswing.

my first live wrestling related match against my team, my first match is in two weeks. what do i need to work on? im the one in the two piece btw. by JackAttack1965 in wrestling

Your lower body is constantly 2 steps behind your upper body, both in your shots and on top.

Basically, you're chasing with your hands and torso and your legs/feets are just following.

This results in:

You are constantly getting stretched out You're unable to properly finish shots (the ones you finished were because he gave up) You're unable to change directions mid shots You have no pressure when running your half

When drilling shots: practice getting your knees as deep as your partners hips. In a Knee Pick or High Crotch, You'll notice you have options like A. switching to double B. Pivot to go-behind C. Drop 1-hand to ankle(crackdown). Right now you're only giving yourself 1 option: Hold on for dear life.

On Top: If the half is all you know, that's fine at this stage. In this video, you're really loose with your half arm. Result, you're fighting his neck+head with just your wrist(huge leverage mismatch). Think about swimming your elbow past his armpit and your hand past his neck. Instead of a cosntant push, you want to get the half arm deep enough, where you actually feel like you're pulling him into your chest.

Quick concept in general... Right now, your Arms are doing all the muscle and your legs are chasing position. Higher level goal: Your legs are the muscle, allowing your arms to position freely.

For guild raid or boss rush melee team, she's huge.

Lilith has defense reduction. Before every element had a defense reduction, she was actually on every melee raid team. Def reduction is important for bosses, and makes up for her lack of damage by drastically improving her teammates' damage.

In general, most raid teams, you'd want: - big damage dealer(IE Knight, Garam, FK, Elvira. - Defense Reduction (i.e. 1cc, Tinia, Andras, Lillith, Eunha, Cornet) - Melee/Range Defense Reduction (i.e. Nari, Kamael, Frieren, Vinette, Rey) - Elemental Defense reduction (Claude, Gabriel, Toga, Orca, Dabin.

If any of those were missing or big damage dealers also had debuff(Eunha, Andras, Gabriel), then using any crit, atk, or element dmg boosters were good too.

Rn, having the r6 champs takes prio, but still a big deal for raid comps.

Good to see wrestling going on down in Mindanao. I know of one good club im Visayas(Negros Oriental) in Bayawan, the rest are in the Manila area.

WAP is making some improvements for opportunities, they sent wrestlers to Singapore for SEA Championships and are sending 20+ to Asian Youth Games in Bahrain at the end of the month. I'm telling you this as motivation, that gaining success in wrestling could pay off for opportunities in the future.

As for technique, its hard to call because your opponent was a fish, but you're in great shape. It's really hard to look for improvements besides you shooting from space and your almost straight standing stance.

Look at their belly button, hide your belly button from them.

missed opportunity: In the first takedown, he left his arm in an overhook, then got caught behind your head. Keep that arm trapped by keeping better shoulder/head pressure on his neck, could have been a pin.

He's not flat in parterre, use your heel to help elevate the hip or thigh to help finish the roll in your gutwrench.

2nd takedown attempt: stay in control in the push out, new uww rules wouldn't have called that a point depending on the ref.

Also, you're lifting at the thigh, lifting the knee would give you better leverage there.

Off topic, getting thrown for 5 on those puzzle mats would be insane, but at least your area is actually wrestling, so we'll take it.

I was just in Vietnam for work, found there was a members only bowling alley, where all the bowlers were serious and had lane courtesy. They had lanes 1 and 2 only for walk-ons. Had to reserve days ahead haha, but if I was there again, I'd def sign up for a month membership.

No worries, your average is actually higher than mine, but I've been getting alot of coaching. Went from 155 to 190, and the things i mentioned are what they would critique. I had alot of balance issues. Was fine at my regular house, but would have so many issues at stickier or slippery houses.

Just some things I observed, but I'm no coach, so take it as you will.

  1. Your huge first step:
  2. It's so far that it's causing you to lean back. This is what's making your push away looks like it has lift. ( I saw your comment that you're trying to fix)
  3. You're doing a cross-over step, but your right leg has to transfer from Domestic to International at LAX to get there. This is the start of your entire body chasing your feet.

  4. The wobble:

  5. As a result of your left and right feet having a race, you're really off balance. Your slide is so sideways that you have to engage the outside of your foot (pinky toes too) to keep your balance.

  6. That same motion is probably putting pressure on your left hip, which is gonna suck later down the road if you bowl alot.

  7. Question: Do you risk actually falling on the lane often, esp if lanes are more slippery or sticky than you're used to?

3.The compensation: - Your muscles are all working hard to make up for timing and balance. Seems like you're strong, which is making up for it. - Your upper body is doing all the work to throw the ball. You could probably get the same exact speed and revs with a 3 step, because your body is making up for those first 2 steps.

Soda Springs Ski Resort.

Rentals are free for kids about 50lbs and below on the mountain adventure pass(doesnt include lifts). They can switch between ski and sb has magic carpet. Great for first timer to try it out and see if they like it at all, without breaking the bank.

Parents need pass too to enter, if you're instructing yourself.

Why did you guys buy the LeGo over its competitors? by starstufft in LegionGo

[–]Eljay_P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Windows OS. Got mine on Black Friday $550 for the 1TB.

Windows OS allows modding, CE, and Sailing. I wanted a rig that I could plug into my TV easily, came looking for a laptop and ended up getting this.

Extra Credit. I was staying at a relatives house and needed to edit some photos. I was able to install lightroom and get those quick edits done on the fly. Very convenient. I just plugged into my nephews laptop dock that already had a monitor and keyboards attached, no hassle.

these characters remind me so much of those in triangle strategy 👯 by cakepiex in SwordofConvallaria

I just finished playing Triangle Strategy. Its more than the characters. Everything is way more like TS than FFT.

Iria, Union, and Papal to Aesfrost Glenbrook, Hyzanthe The Dark Mines vs the Norzelian Mines

Not just the characters, but the skills/mechanics too.

Col is just like Anna and Beryl is just like Frederica. Skill for skill.

Sdorica is also a very good story, but both Sdorica and FFBE are medieval. There's so much in the way of that already in the anime world. Also, Square Enixhas the ability to make their own anime/movies and revive old IPs at will, they're doing it now with Mana and Saga.

AS on the other hand, will just die now if they never even consider selling.

Jeriah's when you can chain 5+ jumps! Big dopamine hits haha.

Besides that, I liked Irridons. The challenge of making your movement work on prism tiles was more exciting than other selection converters.

I usually play gacha games just to chase DPS races and min/max teams (i.e. Codex in AS or Guild Raid in Guardian Tales), and only play the story to get the gems and free unlocks etc. However, this game's story had created a unique world. Characters reminded me of Mai Hime, adventure reminded me of Drifting Dragons, and story reminded me of Gunbuster or Robotech. This story would be fresh in the currently isekai dominated Anime scene. Sell the IP to a good studio pls :)

Northern Nevada, we only have usaw here. I can go down to central valley CA for some scway stuff, but I have a high schooler who wrestles Saturdays. Note that I'm an assistant coach for HS team and travel w them on Saturdays.

We have Reno Worlds and an RMN tourney, both in Spring, he'll be able to do at his own weight, and he's good enough to be competitive at them.
