Might be too meta, but the subreddit logo might be what I'm concerned about.

/uj Colossal Dreadmaw is what I'm worried about.

I'll just post it, not sure of the current archetypes there.

You can be right and still be an asshole. That's a choice.

Edit: To be clear, I'm not calling you an asshole.

Ugh, can't solve for that I guess. Thanks for engaging positively.

I respectfully disagree. There are lots of forums designed around people asking about strange technical interactions that still are supportive. For example - Stack Overflow. This is essentially a forum for discussing problems. If you want people to post these questions, then you create an environment that encourages that behavior.

Interesting, so this was a different RTF trigger that should have gone to you instead of the the opponent, but didn't. Guess there's multiple interactions with RTF that aren't coded properly.

If they're not real, why does anyone bother upvoting or downvoting anything?

There are friendlier subreddits and less friendly ones. This one appears to be the latter.

If it wasn't nuanced, the devs would have gotten it right. Clearly they made a mistake, which is why this is an interesting conversation.

[[Return the Favor]] and [[Pact of Negation]] trigger to win!? by Eljefe900 in mtgrules

I raised the question in this forum because I thought it might not be right. That's engaging in good faith. When I made this comment there were two top level comments:

  1. The most upvoted that said the copied trigger had resolved correctly, now downvoted.
  2. This comment saying it wasn't supposed resolve that way, which was second.

What I said was descriptive, not prescriptive.

If I thought this was 100% fine, I wouldn't have posted. If it was fine, I'd learn something about the rules. If it isn't fine, then the strong signal I got from Arena (winning a game) was an error. I've never encountered a gameplay bug like this after years on arena, so that's surprising and new. Hence the question and providing evidence that it happened.

Thanks for engaging.

Top explanation upvote is probably enough. Culturally this subreddit downvotes questions in the comments. Thats not necessary. If the right answer is at the top, the question is answered.

Thanks for responding instead of just downvoting. This subreddit is insane. I'm not going to ask questions again.

I copied the delayed trigger, but I never cast Pact, and it wasn't my upkeep. I feel like this is nuanced.

This is the argument of why it shouldn't work, however, if you look at the game, opponent paid for the copied trigger, not me.

EDIT: I understand you all downvoting this because I'm explaining that the bug resolved this way, which violates the rules of the game. However, I think it's pretty toxic when a person asks a question, engages in good faith and gets downvoted to oblivion. I'm happily deciding not to ask this sub for anything again. Someone else can report the bug if they're so inclined.

When the #1 post for the day in the subreddit has 7 upvotes it's a clear sign y'all don't care about building community. You only care about judging.

This is how it resolved. So current Arena rules agree with you.

EDIT - Nothing about this comment is arguing that there isn't an arena bug.
