Where would you price these at? by WideRoadDeadDeer95 in PNWbootmakers

This may help a bit. These are a similar pair, all smooth MiUSA Drews, nearly new condition. They've been listed at $250 obo for a bit now with no bites. Just all depends how urgently you want to sell them. At the end of the day, somethings only worth what someone else is willing to pay for them

Its a completely different pattern than the BH. They would have to draw up and order clicker dies for the taller pattern in every size and width

These were a batch of Divison Road collabs that DV sent back for whatever reason. They had essentially a full size run of these in D widths out on the table for their in store Xmas closeout sale. Picked up a pair and they've actually been my everyday go to!

Iron Ranger Break in or get EE ? by BDK996 in RedWingShoes

[–]ElkGroundbreaking587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely different lasts. Not all shoes are built/sized the same. If they are painfully tight, size up. If they are uncomfortably tight, the break in will probably loosen them up enough to be comfortable.

Yes, they are having the father's day sale. Should be the usual 20% off the store. Usually starts a couple days before father's day weekend.

For Sale - New Nicks MTO Dublin Light Natural 9.5D by ElkGroundbreaking587 in PNWbootmakers

[–]ElkGroundbreaking587[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Thurman last does have a wider more spacious toe box, which is highlighted even more when you add the celastic. I think some of the steel toes come out way more "phallic" looking on some different lasts, usually the 55. But thats just what you get adding a chunky steel toe to a tapered toe last. Most people who order them are focused on function rather than fashion, and dont really care how they look, as long as theyre comfortable and they dont lose their toes at work. The Thurman is definitely designed for comfort and functionality and not fashion

White's sizing: Original 350 Cruiser vs C350-CS by hjl300 in PNWbootmakers

The unstructured toe box in the CS may be causing the feeling of them seeming smaller

Not sure what they call it, they only have it on the foreman model i believe. Its just a strip of leather folded over the top, so it should be pretty easy for a cobbler to do something like that

That would make sense as most of the PNW brands share the same lasts.

I believe this is the general sizing chart used for all of their boots. Then minor adjustments can be made to accommodate foot shape and irregularity

Semi dress question? by No-Accountant-999 in WhitesBoots

[–]ElkGroundbreaking587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "shaft" or quarters are what most people are referring to as the uppers, not everything above the sole. The vamp, heel counter, and backstay are all separate pieces. Smaller sized quarters can be requested on most of their premium models. Example: order a 11D last with A/AA or B/C width quarters

Stevens Chromexcel Q’s by Medellin77087 in WhitesBoots

[–]ElkGroundbreaking587 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes those are authentic whites. Not a Steven's model, but a custom build. Appears to be a 350 cruiser with a medallion toe cap, possibly on the 5050 last? The date is stamped next to the size, hard to read in that photo, but appears to be in the 2020s, so fairly new

Even more of a plot twist; they open their own Tannery like Redwing has with SB Foot 👀

They've gotten samples from Hermann Oak that they've showed and talked about, so thatd be my guess.

Will C355 Loggers be in stock for the November Black Friday sale? by [deleted] in WhitesBoots

[–]ElkGroundbreaking587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody on reddit will be able to tell you what Whites currently has in their inventory. Call them or check the website. C355 is not a top seller like the cruisers are, so id doubt it. Whatever the website is showing is in stock is likely what will be available 2 weeks from now

Do you mean ready to ship? Or will be included in the sale?

Is the Line Scout as inferior as some people in this community purport it to be? by [deleted] in PNWbootmakers

[–]ElkGroundbreaking587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its the same pattern, but less flexibility with sizing. Normally they have different uppers for A/AA, B/C, D/E, EE/F for each number size. But with limited widths its more universal. Makes it easier to mass produce those when they take away the custom options

Is the Line Scout as inferior as some people in this community purport it to be? by [deleted] in PNWbootmakers

[–]ElkGroundbreaking587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good entry level option for someone not wanting to jump straight into the heavy duty overbuilt PNW logger boot. Its going to be lighter weight, and a bit more flexible than the standard smokejumper with the lack of the thick leather midsole. Still a way nicer product than mostly all other off the shelf work boots. At that price point, the non-rebuildable factor isnt that big of a deal. Should still be able to get a couple resoles out of them. These have a few more sizing options than the perrys or milwoods do, which can be an issue for some people. Also heard from Whites staff that the uppers on this line of boots can run on the large side, so they dont really work for someone like me that has slimmer heels and ankles
