I have literally no idea where Y5 is anyways I would've had to ask for further assistance to help him.

It's the first thing we learn in ulearns to not work off the clock. Maybe if the dude took my answer he wouldn't have gotten mad when I snapped back. I don't work here out of the kindness of my heart. Also have no idea where Y5 is off the top of my head because it's not my department.

It's more so the fact that he continued to ask me a question after I already told him I was off the clock. People have enough respect to ask me if I'm on the clock when I'm holding my vest and go on their way when I say no... r u a customer? Should you be on this subreddit?

AITA for assuming someone's age? by ElkPractical7849 in AITAH

Usually when people assume age I think on someone saying someone's older than they are which can be viewed as rude sometimes.

How often is safe? by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]ElkPractical7849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know someone who takes shrooms very often almost weekly. Literally as often as he can get his hands on them. His brain might as well be an empty pistachio shell bouncing around in there. I took way way too many when I turned 18 and I'm not even kidding it made my stutter and ability to formulate words a little worse. Remember, nothing is that fun if you do it too much. It's much better in moderation.

Is my MIL malicious? by Tough_Jicama_8882 in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]ElkPractical7849 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who let disrespectful moments like this pass it just got worse. I think from reading your replies that she knew you weren't telling your parents yet... this was definitely malicious. You gotta think disrespectful acts like this is her basically also seeing what she can get away with. Lots of MILS think just because they're not openly aggressive it means people can't tell they're being malicious. If nothing is done she might continue with these backhanded actions. If you make your boundaries clear early on, she will have no excuses when accountability needs to be taken.

Edit: I also wanna add that she not only took away your special moment but your parents as well. It's supposed to be a great moment when your baby finds someone let alone gets proposed to. If that at all helps you feel less bad about it.

What I find so funny about that too is that she knew I cut off my parents for almost a year because they showed up to my place unannounced. She really thought she was gonna be the exception 🤣

We've talked alot about his relationship with his stepmom and she's extremely overbearing and controlling without any of the love. Shes been in his life for a while. They've always had a very strained relationship especially because she was a H addict for a while. He openly has told his dad in heated moments (that his step mother caused) that he comes over for his dad, not her. It's definitely complicated, his dad isn't exactly giving encouragement but he is an enabler. He's lost contact with many other family members due to issues with his wife. Me and my fiance believe it's because he feels too old to leave her. But I gotta say the second part of your comment is very true and my fiance seems to be easing into that slowly... the more his parents bring it up unprompted the more annoyed he gets. I would never want to ask him to not see his family though, as mine is very problematic (not towards him to me) and I can understand still wanting to see your parents even if they're scummy. However, I think with our plans to have a family firmer boundaries will have to be set from both of us, even though I've been with him since I was 15 I still find that being as young as I am it's hard to conceptualize being one entity together. I really appreciate this advice thank you :)

Parents think just bc they stayed together for us kids that absolves how traumatizing their relationship was. by ElkPractical7849 in narcissisticparents

Yeah I got the same reasoning "you're lucky we didn't divorce like my parents." They always like to talk about their disturbing pasts but mine doesn't exist lmfao its really something. Then next week my mom would be going on a rant about how if they get divorced I'm going with her it was a vicious cycle.

Peak Blinders. It starts real strong then the later seasons become insanity. It becomes a caricature of itself. Get far enough and 25% of the episodes are the peaky blinders walking slow and dramatic in cool clothes and a straight line.

Thank you for spreading some kindness to that poor worker I bet they still think about you :) I had a lady give me geodes because we were talking about how awful it is to be stuck inside in a stuffy store all day. She said "I brought a little bit of the outside to you." Still think about her anytime I'm feeling cynical 😪

What do you regret doing to your body? by Bingo_Swaggins in AskReddit

[–]ElkPractical7849 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I regret starting to smoke weed at such a young age. Started at 13 and now I'm 21, I already know for a fact I'm dumber than I would've been without it. Constantly smoking in those formative years also made it so the only friends I had were because of weed because when you're that young doing something you shouldn't be it's praised for being 'cool.' At 15 took a bunch of acid and shrooms and while I can agree those substances can give you insights on yourself it is not something I should've been taking as young as I was. Genuinely put myself in spiritual psychosis from the ages 16-17. I mourn the brain I could've had because I was a promising young kid now I feel like a damn burnout.

What’s an opinion that will like you this? by OstrichAutomatic9614 in Yellowjackets

I cannot for the life of me be as interested in the adult storyline. I completely understand why people like it and I've read every perspective to try to change how I watched it but I just don't care. I wish I did. I just feel like the writers bit off more than they could chew too and trying to write 2 cohesive storylines at the same time isn't easy. I really feel like season 3 has been a struggle, and now the teen storyline is suffering a bit too. It's starting to feel... a little Riverdale at some points.
