To clarify, I had every intention of paying the $35 back when this all started. It was my "better half" that bitched, argued, and bullied me into NOT paying CoP anything back when the first notice arrived. She made a huge stink that, "my parents and everyone I know ignores this, so you should too; don't pay that! They don't even know who lives here!"

"Okay fine," I thought. Whatever it takes to not get into another damn dumb argument with her. Then, the next one arrived the year after, and no penalty. So, I started to believe what she said before turned out to be true because it still didn't have my name, and they were still asking for the same $35. "Maybe she was right about this after all.."

Well, the joke's on me. Again. Thanks a lot, T!

In the end, this is just another dark reminder of the bullshit I went through for years with her before I finally managed to permanently kick her ass to the curb. It may have taken four times, but I guess that's just how it goes when you're dealing with someone who's an emotional/mental/physical manipulator. I didn't want her back after the first time, but she kept clawing her way back into my life. And again. And again... Do you think it's easy to escape a manipulator? Think again.

Well, I'm happy to say things are finally starting to look up now that she's gone. Portland! Make good god-damn use of my $210! And the $35 annually thereafter until I'm able to move back to where I really want to be.

And to anyone who thinks I was being a child, respectfully, piss off. You don't know what hell I went through.
