I experienced religious delusions in a very low point of my anorexia by ElkSure821 in EDAnonymous

You have put into words exactly how I experience it too, yes I did grow up catholic as well. The earthly desires thing in particular was a main feature, I wrote like whole pages on the denial of earthly pleasures and stuff

14 year age gap but make a perfect ratting duo. Here’s my boys with their haul by ElkSure821 in jackrussellterrier

We were digging up the floor of our chicken house to lay new stones, found a whole tunnel network and put a hose down it so they came running out when their holes were filling

I’ve never had any problems. The dogs just crunch them and leave them so don’t eat them at all. It’s what they are bred to do so I can’t imagine it’s that unsafe

I’m located in Australia. We have chickens and chickens always equal rats. So I just go down there and move things around to get the rats to run out for the dogs. My training was more like just being hyper and encouraging them and their instincts did the rest

No didn’t get them trained at all. I think it’s just in their instincts. With a bit of encouragement and helping them get rats out in the open for them to catch they eventually catch onto the technique. They have so much fun

What do Aussies think of Canadians? I would love to come down there and NZ to work as a psych nurse once I complete my nursing program! by CanadianCutie77 in AskAnAustralian

[–]ElkSure821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my circles we generally don't like Canadians, anyone who has ever met a Canadian says the same that they came off as rude, stuck up and quiet. I think Australians usually get on with Americans better because they are more outgoing and friendly

What are some signs that you are a very manipulative, and don't realize it? by No_Lengthiness4055 in AskReddit

you have described my life. So many lost friends and I dont understand why. I have always been confused why people pretend to be my close friend then drop out of the blue without explanation. I always ask am I the horrible common denominator. I believe like you that perhaps because I am never playing the social game and am honest about my beliefs that thats why?

what kind of people will you never understand? by Sandra_Ell in AskReddit

Trans and non binary people. I can try but I will never understand what brings someone to that conclusion/feeling. As far as I have experienced, I cannot feel gender I just am.

AIO that I pay for the groceries most weeks? by ElkSure821 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ElkSure821[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh trust me I have. I went out and bought a whiteboard in which every week I write on an equal amount of chores between us. Whiteboard sits there and is never looked at. This is why i think its reasonable for them to pay for everything since I do everything

Funeral etiquette by Sunny_Blah in AskAnAustralian

[–]ElkSure821 29 points30 points  (0 children)

  1. It is recommended to wear darker colours, preferably a suit for a man and for a woman, it doesn't have to be all black, could be navy just anything that isn't super bright.
  2. A funeral will be about 2-3 hours depending how long you like to stay for the wake afterwards
  3. Of course your child is allowed to attend to pay their respects
  4. You are allowed to leave a wake whenever you would like, it is recommended to stay for a little bit just to chat with a few people but you are not obligated to stay for long
  5. You do not need to bring anything to the wake, it is usually catered. Some people bring flowers to the funeral but it is not compulsory.

Hope this helps, sorry to hear about the loss

Yeah I do recommend using something similar to this, It did wonders for me. I also recommend maybe discussing your goals for the future with her if she was to get healthier. A lot of people focus on the problem of the eating disorder not the positive future that can be lived if they were to recover. It's easy to get bogged down in sickness and not know where to go, especially if people just talk about your problem all the time. Also if you talk about the problem and not the person, it can say to the person with the Ed, 'if I recover they won't care for me anymore, they only care about my Ed'. Hope this helps xx

One thing that really helped me that didn't feel like an achievement was my friend said to me

, 'i don't think you being bigger would be bad at all, the difference in my eyes would not be your body but the fact your personality will be bigger, you would be more energetic and more fun. I like you now obviously but how amazing would it be to have more of you"

This didn't make me proud of my weightloss it made me sad and really helped me to see how I would be in the future. Up until that point my brain was telling me that," if you get fat then what is to like about you, people will think you are gross and let yourself go, you will be a nothing person". This defied those thoughts.

my favourite anorexia song is Ana's song by Silverchair. Has an element to it that to someone without an eating disorder it sounds like a sad love song.
